This was very easy to install. Works very well in detecting motion in a dark area it is pointed at. I hope this proves relieable.I did read in the reviews that it "would not stay in the receipticle". I would suggest the recepticle is worn out and needs replacing. It held quite firmly in my garage ceiling recepticle.

I am using one of these in my garage since I don’t have any motion sensing lights. It works great and stays on long enough for me to see my way out. Not the brightest but will work until I can get something permanent installed.

These work great as night lights. No more running into the table or door frame at night for my wife.Funny story. I was in bed reading one night and the motion light came on in the living room. I grabbed my mini baseball bat that was sitting next to my bed and crept out slowly. As it turns out, there was a mouse running through my living room. I trapped him in a box and put him outside. M~

We have a few of these in our basement and they are generally turn on from ~6' away, even when approached from an angle. They stay on as described, around 30-40 seconds.

This is one of the greatest lighting inventions ever! I have two in my garage, plugged into the extra ceiling outlets where the overhead garage door opener plugs in. The light in my garage door opener does not have motion detection capability, so I needed one of these. I liked the first one I bought so much that I bought a second one. So now, when I enter the garage from either the house or from outside through the side garage door, I have temporary, automatic lighting which stays on long enough for me to find my way through the garage to the other door, or it lights my way if my hands are full and I can't hit the main garage light switch. They're not bright enough to work on any projects in the garage, but they're great for just lighting your way to get in and out. My wife was complaining that she didn't like having to step into a dark garage, so I installed the first one. She thought I was a genius! There's nothing to do except plug it in. There are no switches or batteries and you can bend the neck to aim it in any direction you want. I love the simplicity and effectiveness of these lights. Best invention ever!

I have a few of these - good for areas like basements and laundry rooms.

Just what we needed to go into the garage to use the steps to let the dog out. Instead of turning all our overhead long tube florescent lights on and forgetting to turn them off this is perfect. We have the light in a plug near the handrail at a level which shines enough light where we need it. I could plug it in the ceiling where the garage door opener is plugged in, I’m sure it would light up a wider area but I don’t need to at this point. Had to adjust the light a little to activate the motion sensor quicker which makes sense. No more using all that electricity and forgetting to turn off the lights just for 1 minute on the steps to the door to let out our pup. I’ll probably order another. Great item!
