Melissa & Doug Fold and Go Wooden Horse Stable Dollhouse with Handle and Toy Horses (11 pcs)

One of the most played with toys every time the grandkids are over, which is often. They never get tired of playing with this very well made wooden barn and horses set. Everything about it is well made - the *only* thing I would change is to have a latch to keep the folded barn closed when it's folded. As it is, there's not latch and it can easily pop back open when being moved around. It has double handles for carrying and all the horses and accessories easily fit inside. Stores nicely and can carried from room to room, too.One of the horses in the set we got has some trouble standing, but all the others are perfectly fine.The kids love how the interior barn doors slide open and shut, the sturdiness and different colors of the horses, and the fence. Fantastic for imaginative play. We have some other farm animals and the kids usually make a set up with this horse barn and the farm animals too.This makes an excellent gift! Highly recommend!

Bought this for my daughter’s collection of Schleich farm animals and they fit perfectly. I’m not a huge fan of the horses included in the set. They seem hardy but they’re not very attractive. Otherwise the portability and quality of the barn itself is great!

Great classic little wood barn with sturdy plastic horses. Took my child a little longer than expected to enjoy it... Age 3 was a little too young.

My 2 1/2 year old toddler son always seemed interested in playhouses when visiting friends homes. I bought the Fold and Go Mini Stable to go with the Melissa and Doug Castle. The stable has sliding barn doors, a mini ladder, hay bales, a folding fence and a couple of horses. The sliding doors are fun to open and close. My little guy likes to sing the "Ride a Little Pony into Town" song when he plays with the horses. He's a bit young for make believe, but I think over time he will grow into both the stable and castle as he creates his own events with each play. Very sturdy construction and provides the ingredients to encourage make believe as he grows. Melissa and Doug toys are great. I like that they are not battery operated and encourage self play. Maybe the toy is just as fun for me as it is for him.

The media could not be loaded. Another favorite to add to the list of wonderful toys from Melissa and Doug. My daughter plays with this so often. We love the detail and charm with the wooden material. The horses are very cute as well. Hours and hours of fun and more to come!

The horse stable / building is great. Nice design that opens for playtime and closes to put away or to carry. The 4 horses however are not so great made of cheap lightweight plastic and they do NOT stand up. (I bought another set of horses from a different toy maker to replace the horses. )

I bought this last Christmas for a 2 1/2 year old girl. I am extremely pleased that over the past year it has taken no obvious damage and has been well used by my now 3 1/2 year old daughter and her younger brother who is now 18 months. The horses that came with it are of a lower quality than the Schleigh horses that she also has, but they all get equal treatment from her. All of the horses fit inside which was a main purchase point when I wanted something for the Schleigh horses. The outside doors are attached with heavy duty rubber bands and have suffered no wear and tear that I can see. The inner doors slide on tracks. My children have really enjoyed putting the horses inside and taking them out as well as feeding them through the many windows and doors. Highly recommended for anyone with an animal lover!

Well made. Fits 4 to 5 inch horses like Schleich horses just fine. After reading the other reviews about this item, I was not quite confident in making the purchase to go along with the Schleich horses I had already bought. Turns out, they go well together. In fact, the horses that come with the set are the exact size of the Schleich ones.Okay, here ( and in the photos I’ve included) is some of the info I wished I’d had before making the plunge.The sad representation of a horse that comes with the stable is not exactly what the Western kid wants to see in an equine. See photos. But, the ones we got stood up just fine, and the plastic is somewhat rubbery, so they don’t seem apt to break easily. The horses in the LEFT in the photos are the ones that come with the stables. The horses on the RIGHT are the Schleich brand that I purchased separately from a walk-in store. You can clearly see the difference in quality and style.The stables: the doors spring open in the front of the stalls with a rubber-band action, and the stall doors slide easily back & forth. Two-levels. The hay loft is, of course shorter. Has openings to drop the hay down to the horses. Sturdy pivoting handles, and cute painted roof. No hasp or lock to secure the end for carrying. Long straight hinge on the other end for opening.Good quality unfinished wood- some inside edges may be a slight rough for very tender hands, but a light sandpaper quickly would smooth this.The extras: wooden ladder- cute, well constructed. The hay bales - painted wooden blocks. The fencing- ingenious,folding wooden fence- so tightly joined, that I can’t tell whether they used tacks, pins or screws. Good job on whoever came up with this design.So, this is my unsolicited review. Just Things that I would want to know on the front end of buying this item for my 7 year old grandchild.
