Swordfish 40908 Ikon and Ebony Sharpener Replacement Blade, Silver

I use this for my pastel pencils. I do a great many animal portraits and use a mixture of soft pastels and pastel pencils. Pastel pencils are not easy to sharpen properly with many sharpeners, but this doesn't break the pastel and sharpens to a great point for detail work. I wouldn't use anything else now.

I use the swordfish iKON for my pastel pencils (Pitt and carbothello) they are very damaging to the blades and you need to remember to sharpen a graphite (preferably woodless) pencil every 4-5 pastel pencils, this keeps the blades lubricated. Eventually though your blades are going to give out, you will notice that the pencil is no longer drawn inside as you turn the crank. I've been replacing the whole sharpener until I found these little replacement blades. Very easy to replace and work perfectly. Very happy that I no longer have to buy a new sharpener and can just replace the blade unit.

This was recommended (after I had bought 2 other conventional sharpeners for pastel colours!) I got this sharpener blade in a bundle with the sharpener which made the replacement blade almost free. It does the job but lost a star because when the tip does break it jams the mechanism and you have to disassemble the sharpener and manually remove the blockage before putting it back together. The shavings container holds a lot as the shavings resemble fine powder not big shaving flakes.

The swordfish icon manual sharpener is great and perfect for pasta pencils, they don’t snap my break and you get a really nice time. It’s the only one I would use after some trial and error

After regularly purchasing these amazing blades for my pastel artwork, all of a sudden they're not working properly and each replacement is blunt that I've been sent. I'm being forced to look elsewhere. Have complained to Amazon who are now investigating.

Straightforward replacement blade for swordfish Ikon sharpener.

Bought as my sharpener had stopped working properly. I use it to sharpen pastel pencils which are not kind to the blade. This replacement works great and my sharpener is now back on form!

As far as I am concerned this is the best rotary sharpener I have ever had, it will sharpen coloured pencils but what I like the most about it is, it will sharpen my pastel pencils without breaking them. Added bonus is that when the sharpener does start to dull you can buy a replacement blade without having to buy another full sharpener, I use it for all my pastel work and its terrific, highly recommend it.

These are great replacement blades for my Ikon sharpener and I love that they were easy to replace and that I didn't have to buy a whole new sharpener. They are super sharp and I get a lot of life out of my Ikon sharpener so these are high quality blades and worth the cost. I got these at a super price during black Friday sales.
