AKG Pro Audio K121 Channel Studio Headphones

I have a pair of K240s that I use for mixing in my home studio (I'm unorthodox --- I like to go back and forth between monitors and cans). I think these are great both for tracking, and - occasionally - to get a fresh perspective. Overall the sound is good. And they're great for the price.

I could not find any reviews on this pair of headphones, but the company usually puts out a good product. This was not one of them. The sound was ok but they were made so cheep.All plastic and felt like they could fall apart at any minute. They were a knock off of their K240s which are made much better. I dont know what they were thinking. I dont think these will be on the market much longer, if they are they shouldnt be.

I've used and abused mine in radio stations for the past 30 years. I have replaced the pads, the cord, and re-soddered the insides time and again to keep them working. They sound better than the K240's and are a quality product. Now that it's time for a new pair of cans, I'm glad to see they still make the AKG K121 model and still at an affordable price. I will buy these again!

I have had a pair of these for over 15 years. They sound great and are pretty comfortable and durable. The best thing to me is that they are completely repairable. AKG still sells all the parts to keep your headphones going for decades. Over the last fifteen years I have replaced the cable, and the headphone cushions and they are as good as new. Most headphones you just throw them away when something breaks but kudos to AKG for supporting their products.

I use these principally for double track recording i.e. listening to one track that I've recorded with one instrument and recording a second track with another instrument. For this the headphones are excellent and I can hear what I need to very clearly. The sound quality of the phones is good. What is particularly useful is the length of the lead - I don't need to sit close to the computer and still have plenty of slack; or I can stand up and move about. a bit. The construction is good, particularly when you consider the price.

Durable and still in perfect condition. Used almost every day.
