SWR-10D2 - Alpine 10" Dual 2-Ohm Type-R Series Subwoofer

This is the only sub i will ever use in my vehicle, i have owned 60 dollar subs all the way to 2000 watt competition subs and for the money this is by far hands down the best sub out there i have mine running through a soundstream digital bass processor, a ssl pre amp electronic crossover powered by a hifonics zues 1800 watt mono block d class running at 1 ohm backed up by a 12 farad power cap and let me tell you no one has come close to what i am romping, it ranges from one 10 all the way to 3 twelves and nothing comes close and i mean the total package, mine takes a beating because i like to feel my music, i have an half hour ride to work and im hitting it all the way there and it never ever has had a problem,never distorts always clean super hard hitting bass and still till now people can not believe all that is coming from one 10 so if your in the market and buy something else definetly do not listen to this sub because your gonna be upset cause you didnt buy it

Is my third type R alpine sub, firts the swr-1242d, then swr-1243d and now this D2, i recommned use it in a ported box, it works great from 300 RMS if you want more you can go to 1000 RMS, nice build, good materials and quality, flexible connections two voice coils at 1OHM or 4OHM or even 1 single voice coil at 2 OHM, 24 pounds of power, great deal.

Nice looking subs, but I bought recommended amplifier and box and they just don't quite have enough punch in my Camaro SS. For the money no complaints I just should have bought the Type-X subs instead.

burned up running on 1amp at 1200 watts. only had it running for 15 days? a cheaper speaker i had before this lasted way longer on the same setup and amp.

It worked better than I ever thought it could for about a week or so and then something messed up has definitely happened. I have a 1000.1 RF punch amp newer series and wired the sub to 2 ohm with a expensive kicker 4 guage wiring kit. It sounded super good and the bass was great for about a week and a half and then just the other day a super irregular sound that was horrible started comin from the sub so I turned it down and then it smelled like burnt plastic or something. Once I let it cool down and turned it back on later the sub wasn't sounding horrible anymore but itwasnt hitting to its potential either and sounded a little off. I had the hz matched up on the amp and the gain wasnt even turned all the way up, idk how I could have messed up a 3000w max sub with this amp???? Help does it have a warranty or am I screwed? ****now I returned it so im not too pissed thanks amazon

I bought a pair of these as my first system setup. I figured if I was going to have the system I have now for a long time, I might as well get something a little more top notch. I have had these for a week now and I just turned the gain up halfway on my amp (Kicker CXA600.1). Boy, do these things hit hard! I have the 2 Alpine's bridged together into a 2ohm load so they'll hit harder. It ratttles the inside of my car like crazy! I have yet to break them in further, so I can't even imagine how it'll sound a couple weeks from now. I would compare these to Rockford Fosgate P3's Out of box these do not come with mounting screws like some other subs do, so you may need to go to your local hardware store and pick up some screws. These are definitely worth every penny. I would recommend these for people who want a lot of bass.

I will def b buying more from these guys they have treated me so well and have been nothing but fully honest with me product is great and I'm very happy with the out come I will post some nice pictures for everyone to see.

Ok Im gonna start off by saying I love Alpine. Everything in my car is Alpine minus the head unit. I have 2 of these subs and each one is hooked up to their own MRX-M110 - Alpine Monoblock 1100W RMS X-Power Amplifier. Now I understand that the output of the amp is a little more than the 1,000 watts RMS rating of the sub but I also never turned my stereo all the way up. I kept my volume at 28 out of 40 and never played the music any longer than maybe an hour without giving it a break. This is my second pair of these subs. The 1st pair seized up and then today the 2nd pair seized up too. You would think Alpine would produce a sub that can handle the power of their own amplifier but apparently not. I had these professionally installed as well and had another business install the 2nd pair and look over the wiring to make sure everything was correct but they still blew. Cant help but say that im a little annoyed about this. I mean they sounded good for sure but c'mon Alpine dont make your own amp so powerful that your own subs cant handle them. 3 stars just for that
