Sometimes when you’re not expecting much you get a surprise. Looking at this item on the Amazon site it didn’t strike me as anything special, especially at the cheap price. But surprise, surprise! This strawberry corer is a five star winner. Easy for elderly hands to operate it does a clean, neat job on berries of every size. And it doesn’t over core. You get every bit of usable berry.To paraphrase Cole Porter…”It’s the Top”.

This tool has completely exceeded my expectations! It’s simple, sturdy, and works like a charm. The design makes it incredibly easy to grab the core with a quick twist, and it removes the stem cleanly without wasting any of the sweet fruit.

This gadget is awesome. It’s perfect for hulling strawberries.

An inexpensive and very easy way to remove stem & pith from strawberries. Small enough to store in any drawer or container and the bright color makes it easy to find.

Owned this for 6 years now and still going strong. The fact that it's dishwasher safe and its open air vented design has kept the interior relatively clean.However, it has to be noted that even though you can sanitize the interior blade housing by throwing it in boiling water or the dishwasher, there may eventually come a time when a mechanical force is need to dislodge and clean gunk (or mold from improper storage) that could get stuck inside, a bit analogous to flossing vs mouthwash. However, it doesn't have any openings for a pipe cleaner to reach the interior. And worse, you can't even examine the interior with visual inspection.instead, you have to dismantle it. the difficulty level is a slightly higher than one of those ballpoint pens that have replaceable ink cartridges but still kind of annoying to get everything lined up to reassemble it. we took pretty good care of ours so there was no mold in our case, but the interior didn't look pristine either.the only reason it needs to have a inaccessible interior is because it insists on a 4 blade design. however, newer strawberry huller like the one by oxo have gotten by with just 2, and resembles a pair of tweezers, and therefore easy to clean. and in a sense, that is what this is, two pairs of tweezers working in conjunction to remove a strawberry stem.it's a quality product for its time but despite how cute and clever it is, in a post-covid world, it's a little dated in terms of maintenance and cleanliness.
