Archery: Steps to Success

I have read small tips that I have found to be helpful that I have not received from coaches .. I would not hesitate to recommended this book to beginning archers .. Informative, thoughtful, and written in understandable terms .. 5 Stars !!!

This is a great book for someone reviewing, learning for themselves or teaching others. You forget little things over the years and this book helps bring them to the fore front again.

Well written book about all aspects in Archery. Covers both, compound and recurve bows techniques. Accessories et al. The illustrations are not very modern. They could have made a better job in this area. But content is what matter, therefore I found it very useful.

Covers all the information you need to get started and then some. A great reference without being complicated. I used it to refresh myself with all the archery terms and what is important. Recommended.

This book is very informative, has pictures and easy to follow instructions which are a must for beginners in archery.

Excellent book in better than expected condition. Covers a wide range of subjects that are bound to be of interest to the beginning archer like myself.

Very helpful. Read this book as I took a basic archery class and improved by leaps and bounds in just weeks. Learned more from the book than the class. Very helpful in equipment selection and understanding archery dynamics. Saved me a ton of frustration. Well written and enjoyable. Recommend to anyone who wants to understand the sport or hobby of archery. Really helped me to love archery.

The book is easy to read with instructive pictures and diagrams. Following the steps in the book has helped me as a beginning archer.

Its rare to find a book with such care and devotion taken over its writing and illistration. Its a winning combination for those who are complete beginners to archery (ie: me) and i'm sure also for those much further down the line. If one were to follow the steps this books takes you through its basically a course in its own right. I am currenly partisapating in a beginners archery course and am glad i have such a book to read between classes. The instructions, as well as tips and tricks are highly accurate, simply explained and throughly enjoyable to read. And there is so much detail and information that i will continue reading this long after my course has finished to perfect my skills. An easy 5 stars.

As a neophyte, I enjoyed thus book. It was just what I was hoping for. Before receiving the book, the nearest I had come to archery instruction was the odd Robin Hood film, some very odd indeed but this seemed just what Robin himself might have read somewhere in the depths of Sherwood, although I am not sure he would have recognised some of the bows described. It is a step-by-step guide to beginner's archery and, if along the way, the wrong step is taken, there is a section on spotting and curing the typical faults. The illustrations are not what I have become used to in some expensive golf books by the top players who use very fast, motion-stopping cameras but, since the motions are not very fast (arrow excluded), there is no reason for anything other than the effective line-drawings it has. If what readers are looking for is a book to take them through the basics of beginners archery in sensible, well-described stages, this is the book for them. (It also cured me of the Robin Hood impersonations!) Recommended.

Leider gibt es sehr wenig deutsche Literatur für den Kindle zum Thema Bogensport. Dieses in Englisch verfasste Buch richtet sich hauptsächlich an Einsteiger, die sich einen schnellen Einstieg und Ergebnisse im Bogensport erhoffen. Es werden alle wichtigen Themen von Sicherheit, Auswahl der Ausrüstung, Training und noch mehr, kurz und verständlich erklärt, ohne sich dabei zu Verzetteln. Dass dabei auf tiefergehende Details verzichtet wird ist zu verschmerzen - dafür kauft man sich ein "Profi-Buch". Didaktisch wertvoll finde ich die "So macht man's"- und "So macht man's nicht"-Anmerkungen. Zum ersten Einlesen absolut geeignet. Wobei man auch sehr gute und vorallem kostenloses Material im Internet finden kann.
