Nelson's Illustrated Bible Dictionary: New and Enhanced Edition

I loved it

Bible dictionaries are incredibly helpful and insightful to anybody of any level of bible study. I am a layman bible student, only having been on my journey to better understand God’s word for about the past year. I had purchased a few study bibles, commentaries, and bible study workbooks, but didn’t really see the point in getting a dictionary, because it sounded as if I was going to be trying to interpret Greek and Hebrew or really complicated word studies to justify my purchase. But then i’ve realized as ive been learning that there are plenty of words, phrases, people, places, etc., in the bible that i needed definitions and context for, and this one has been tremendously helpful!It has beautiful coloring and illustrations, and had the majority of the terms ive searched for. I own 3: This one, the Holman dictionary, and the Zondervan. They each provide great definitions, and often have slightly different info, so they’re great to use together. However, I find myself grabbing for this one the most, and if I can only carry 1, it will usually be this one. The Nelson’s has fantastic and detailed book introductions and outlines. It has more words than the Holman, although I do enjoy the layout, look and feel of the Holman the most.If I could only pick one, I personally find this one to be the most helpful in my bible study.

Wow, this is the first Bible dictionary I’ve bought, and I’m so impressed! It is pretty thick and heavy, over 1000 pages, but seems to be well-made. I don’t think it will fall apart with use. I was worried that the type would be small and unreadable, but it’s not. Certainly not “large type,” but definitely readable. And SO many pictures! Love it! Definitely a good purchase to use as my Bible study group tackles Judges, which has a lot of unfamiliar (to me) names and places.

Not my first and maybe not my last. But now it is the best bible dictionary I have ever used. Very happy with this purchase.

This is going under the Christmas tree as a present to myself. Recently started Bible studies. I know I will enjoy using this. Looked at some others on here and read the reviews. This looks like it is one of the better ones.

The kids love seeing the areas they're learning about on Sundays.

The item arrived on time. It is tinier than I expected. I have yet to find it helpful. It cute, pocket size but not for real deep studies. Better to get a full size.

The media could not be loaded. This is such an amazing book! Very informative and it is very helpful when reading the word . Only thing that I was disappointed about was that the corner of the book on the top right was a little damaged 😩 but i still love it .
