YAC AS5C

I am a relatively new player on saxophone but I feel that I will be progressing through larger opening mouthpieces in short order. As I explore my sound, I can eventually see myself landing on a very expensive mouthpiece in a year or so. Meanwhile, every tutor has told me that the Yamahas are a safe and good playing mouthpiece. I concur and I can progress on a reasonable budget through the different offerings. A safe choice for beginners.

Fantastic mouthpiece for a budget price. 66 year old sax player that’s been playing since middle school. That’s a long time. I play regularly twice a week at church in the worship band. I used to play a C* long ago. I got this Yamaha AS5C and for me, Vandoren Jazz #2-1/2 and #3 reeds are a perfect, free playing matchup. Low range to high is great with fantastic intonation. I enjoyed the first one that I bought to use with my JeanPaul AS400 alto sax so much that I bought another one for my 1968 vintage Selmer. Fantastic tone and playability for little money. You don’t have to spend big money to get great results.

As a professional musican, I play for church/weddings etc. I would recommend this for a player seeking and advanced mouth piece. I would recommend getting this if you are ready to graduate up per say. It has a good material overall all and produces a good tone/sound on your saxophone. There are various brands out there on the market but this is a quality brand per say. This brand is a good mouthpiece and will inhance your playing experience. Also, this brand makes quality alto saxophones (recommend this for starters also (good parent information) q

This mouthpiece arrived on time and adequately packaged. The real treat however was when I mounted it on my sax - along with one of the four Vandoren Jazz Reed Mix reeds I ordered - and belted out the opening phrase of "Winelight" (which is my go-to phrase for testing anything related to the alto sax). The ease with which I was able to voice the phrase and the power in the sound were amazing, and reassuring. The 5C size should prove to be just the right fit for my style. I am sure I will be able to elevate my musical prowess and enjoy doing so with this mouthpiece and reed combo. Highly recommended.

For the price i believe it is a pretty good mouthpiece that will for sure help a beginner.

I started my granddaughter with the 4C mouthpiece, three years later she informs me her section leader informs her she needs a new mouthpiece. Went up to the 5C and it was a great choice. Had studied mouthpieces before and already had an idea we would end up with the 5C. The design, quality, ad affordability made my choice easy. Shipping was quick.

Works great. Better than the original mouthpiece that came with my inexpensive beginner sax . Don't drop it in the sink. I got a little chip.

Standard Yamaha quality. I needed a slightly wider opening. Perfect. Be aware it doesn’t come with a ligature.

Good product, Only problem I faced is it takes long time to delivered, it took around 15 - 20 days . Which is not good .
