Simple, functional, inexpensive
It's an easy way to inject DC and recover it at the other end.Speed test showed 100 Mbps at 2 feet, while carrying 2W or 20W.Speed test showed 10 Mbps at 250 feet (carrying 2W).Ethernet plugs have 4 conductors, as expected.

I recommend it - Works very well
I really recommend this product.I think this comment will help many buyers because before I bought it I didn't have an answer to these questions.First of all, I should mention the quality, the plastic and the cable are quite high quality. It came packed in a special factory bag.I needed this product to power the IP camera. There is a 20% copper internet cable in the wall, which made me afraid of how much power it could carry. This product worked great. In my case, the power source is 12 volts 1 amp. With this method, both audio and lighting worked on the camera.

Simple solution to non-PoE needs
The kit only use two pairs of wire (Orange 1/2 and Green 3/6) which is great in case your PoE switch power output can not be shutdown. Inner contact uses both Blue (4/5) pair of wires and outer contact uses both Brown (7/8) pair. Made a couple of tests and got good results. Would it be nice to have that info first hand, but other than that this looks like a good product. Just a reminder that DC voltage is affected by distance unlike AC voltage; test the voltage drop before deploy. However I was not able to deploy them on the project due to delivery issues (Amazon/USPS: when a package says “Delivered” it means delivered not “Scanned as Delivered one day and actually Delivered a couple of days later”).

Works for my use to remotely power an ATT fiber transceiver.
I used this dc injector / receiver pair to power my ATT fiber to catX unit that was mounted in my crawl space. I simply removed the power adapter (not good in a damp crawl space - and the extension cord -ugg) and plugged this in. The power is now injected up in my garage where I have a modest little networking shelf setup. I can now power it all from a UPS and it’s super simple to reset/reboot everything as needed. My network speed has been capped at 50x50 by ATT and I believe that this dc balun set basically allows for 100mb connection since it halves the wiring to use for the DC power. Four of the eight wires are now used for power transfer and it would by definition disable the ability to get gig speeds. If I upgrade in the future I’ll simply run another cat5 or 6 line to gain gig speeds and keep this in place.

Works like a champ for a clean install!
These are a great solution for providing power and data to non PoE IP cameras without modifying a Cat 5 data cable. Some people may get confused as to the application of this product so to make it clear you NEED to use these in pairs and it is not designed to be used with existing PoE supported devices as a replacement for powering such device unless you wish to bypass standardized PoE all together. While these are NOT PoE injectors these can be considered as a PoE inserter as it allows you to insert a custom voltage from a non PoE devices wall power supply and to pull the power back off the data cable at the device being powered. These could be used to power a remote 10/100 network switch, Access Point or any other networked connected non-PoE device. These are not capable of supporting Gigabit ethernet as they only use 2 pairs of the Cat 5 cable for data transfer but work fine with 10/100 networks which is more than enough for multiple megapixel cameras.

None of them worked.
By the time I got to use them I found out that they did not work at all.Test them right away. Their QC is not very good. With that said I hope you don't get a fire.

Did exactly what I ordered for
I was trying to revive an old security cam from a previous home owner , Icamera-1000, and for first time use, you have to reset it first then enter data into the web interface through direct ethernet cable connection to the router. I didn't have the y-cable, and as such there was no way to setup the camera through my PC. Once I setup the camera through the the direct connection with the router, then I don't need the y-cable anymore. It was worth it to pay 6 dollars for the cable because these cameras are still pretty good even though they go back about 10 years,
