BMW R90 S Kit

Franzis model kits are Top Quality & instructions are without question the most comprehensive & accurate that are going! My only gripe is, I wish there was far more than currently available!

A well put together kit with very precise assembly instructions and a detailed history of the BMW company. No glue needed, fits together well with small screws and push fittings. I had a problem with two of the gearbox parts having been incorrectly formed during the injection moulding process. I emailed the maker, Franzis, in Germany and they provided replacement parts free of charge and free postage. Received them within 5 days from Germany. Excellent customer service. I really enjoyed assembling this model and it works just fine. In my humble opinion it is brilliant!

Fascinating project i improved my understanding of how things like camshafts, valves & gearboxes function. Generally well made & a good fit, a couple of parts were a bit tight but pretty good. No glue needed, comes with a magnetized screwdriver - a good pair of modellers "snips" recommended to free the parts. Not a 100% accurate reproduction (no clutch mechanism, some internal structures omitted for clarity & I believe in real life some of the gears would be spiral cut), but a good working model.

Great quality. A superb gift item ...Once he started it my husband couldn't out it down. Super engineering and finished product. Recommended.

My kit was supplied through ToyMonster - very prompt service - unfortunately, there was a part missing, but ToyMonster sent me a complete replacement kit without quibble - excellent service. I have owned at least a dozen air-cooled BMW Boxer Twins, so I was keen to have a go at this kit despite the fact that the last time I made up a construction kit was an Airfix kit of a Spitfire fighter 60 years ago. I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed the challenge / experience and am very impressed with the quality of all the components, ease of construction and the 1st class construction manual. This kit is worth every penny !

I have yet to build the unit - I have examined the parts & the quality is obviously very high. The instructions book is also of a high quality & contains the history of the BMW motorcycle since it's inception in the early 1900s. This is a good read. The instructions are simple & very easy to understand. . I highly recommend this product.

Met or exceeded my expectations for quality, ease, and beauty. Quality - Mostly great. No missing parts. Only three small fit issues. (1) one gear needed to have its center hole bored out. Not a big deal, took two minutes with a hand drill. (2) one mounting tab for one valve rocker was bent too tight, keeping the valve from closing. I put that head on the non-display side of the engine. (3) The gearbox shifting action is iffy. Lots of thin plastic parts with loose fit. Be deliberate but careful and it mostly works. Ease - Instructions were clear and detailed. Great diagrams, good pointers for routing, alignment, and sprue trimming. Beauty - All parts have fantastic surface quality. The chrome exhaust really shines, all the translucent panels are clear to see through and don't distort things. Final note - It doesn't have a clutch.
