The grits are sturdy and fairly precise. Tearing off only as much as you need is an excellent benefit. The only negative I can say about this paper is that the grit is not stamped on the back. So, if you use graduating grit in the process of turning anything, you need to keep the strips in order for repeated use or, write on the back with a sharpie.... kind of a pita. Overall, a good product.

I got this for some pistol smithing duties, I needed various grits for a 1911 slide that I'm working on from 1950. I like that the various grits hold up really well with some cutting fluid to basically wet sand, it lasts a good bit of time, the cloth backing is very durable and the grit doesn't wear off fast. Good purchase.

Great selection of the grits required to quickly make a smooth basic finish on all wood. Handy tear-off strip dispenser. The sandpaper strips themselves are high quality, slow to clog with even fine woods, and last a long time when used properly on a wood turning project. Like all good sandpaper, it’s important to match your work with the right lathe speed, and let the sandpaper do the work using correct (coarser to finer grits) technique and not trying to quickly force the smoothing process. These progressively finer grits also work best by blowing or brushing off the previous sanding grit thoroughly, before changing to the next finest; this stops you gouging the wood with a scratch that the finer grade of grit won’t remove.
