The Plantronics audio 628 stereo USB headset is a low price device, that seems to outperform expectations. The Skype buttons on the device are nice because they allow you to turn up the volume on the headphones and meet the microphone, although I have little to no use for the answer button on the top of the inline control. The microphone is super high quality of works well with dragon NaturallySpeaking 10.1, and Windows 8 speech recognition, and the headphones seemed to be of mid quality. The headphones reproduced base highs and mid-tones well, although they allow a significant amount of sound to escape, and a significant amount of sound in. As for the fit of the headphones they seem very comfortable, even for people with larger heads. I also wear glasses, so the fit of the headphones was a bit of concern for me, but after receiving them they seem to be more comfortable than I expected. I can’t speak to the longevity of the devices have only had it for about three days, although this device seems to be well made, and at a proper price point. If I had to make this purchase again I would probably choose the same device. Five stars is being given for microphone quality, headphone quality, ease of use, and fit of the device.

The sound quality of this headset is very good. The only thing that I did not like was where the volume and mute buttons were located. I should explain that the buttons are located inline approximately 12-14 inches below the headset. My reasoning for purchasing this brand is because I have had many previous successes with Plantronics and I suppose it would be accurate to say I didn't do my homework this time, as I planned to use it for working from home. While it is comfortable to wear for extended periods, due to the location of the volume/mute buttons I continually either muted the customer or turned up the volume by allowing the buttons to press against the edge of the keyboard...very funny in hindsight but was not at the time. So if you are only planning to use it for gaming or skype or some other informal use, then I would say this is a quality headset at a great price. Also this headset was not wireless, it was usb.

I am deployed and hop around from FOB to FOB alot. I needed something that was small, durable, decent quality, and reliable. These headphones met all these requirement. I had a better pair of Plantronics head phones, but during the winter they crapped out on me, so I went with these. When I say durable ,don't think toughbox durable, rather they can be packed in my assault pack and as as I don't throw heavy bags on them in the helicopter I am good. They have a great sound quality, are comfortable on the ears/head, and I really have no issues with these. I gave 4 starts instead of 5 because there are some better ones out there, btu for the price, this is all you need to stay in touch on Skype, Google Chat, watch movies, etc.

I use this headset with a iMac and Skype. I use Skype as my phone service when sitting at my desk as the sound quality is much improved vs.a cell phone or a home phone.I have used other headsets but prefer this 628 based on these facts#1 These headphones last. Other brands fail with-in 6 months of every day Skype use#2 Comfort! I sit a my computer long hours with these headphone on, The lightweight design is a must for me as I can almost not tell I have them on. Other brands hurt my ears / head after 10 min use.#3 The price, I am a sound tech by trade and a audiophile and own expensive headphone / audio gear. The Plantronics are not my studio go to phones but sound good even on music, Not fantastic but very good, added with the light weight I find these are in use 95% of the time.#4 I like the location of the controls , these just have a good feel.I have had to replace a set before but I'm hard on these guys and have dropped them many times, rolled over them with the wheels of my office chair and these continue to work until I simply break them by pulling a wire or or something.I have never owned a set of USB headphone that last like these so that along with the light weight and sound quality keeps me buying a set every few years!
