Easy to use and works well
Why did you pick this product vs others?:I needed a good quality tape to repair a book separation. This tape is very sheer, but still shows if you wonder about it. Has a very good adhesion to the item. Feels very strong when applying it. Used on an old cookbook I've owned for 48 years and love the result.

Great in my bible
I bought this from recommendation of BibleNerd Ministries to add some pages of information to my bible, it is great because you can see through it perfectly if overlayed on text, you can write on it and it doesnt smudge. My only issue is trying to get the backing off is a bit of a challenge most days.

Works on Torn Dust Jackets
I've used this product extensively to mend tears in the dust jackets of books. It adheres strongly, is commendably thin, and works very well. I have repaired jackets that were in three or four pieces. They are now functional again (and I put them in a Brodart cover for further preservation).Of course, if placed inside the jacket the tape is invisible. However, some jackets are so badly damaged I have to place the tape on both sides of the tear. If the outer finish of the jacket is matte, the tape more or less disappears other than to mute any darker colors. On a glossy finish it is quite visible. This is a trade-off. I need to find a glossy tape that is as good. The product is claimed to be reversible with mineral spirits and I have found this claim to be accurate. Once I had to do this (the jacket was in pieces and I taped them together wrong) and it worked. A tip: don't be in a hurry. Get the paper good and wet with the mineral spirits and give the tape adhesive time to soften and release. Otherwise--as happened to me before I slowed down the process--the tape started to peel away the outer layer of paper when I tried to pull the tape off. I don't know the effect of mineral spirits on all dust jackets, but on the one I tried--which was uncoated paper--the chemical evaporated after a while leaving no visible trace. In sum, the product is what it claims to be and is recommended.

Good tape....
I like this tape for adding pages to my bible for notes. It is clear and sticks very nicely. I would buy again.

The best book repair tape I've been able to find for the money
Despite my efforts to instill a reverence for books, my young kids pay absolutely zero regard for maintaining their state of completeness. Luckily, this tape does a great job of hiding their crimes, so to speak. Is it perfect? No. But it does quite a good job and its certainly fine for my purposes.A few notes: Especially with thinner pages, the adhesive is quite potent so take extra care when placing on delicate substrates. It's not perfectly transparent, but by lightly buffing with a bone folder (or any similar tool) I've been able to improve the opacity such that the underlying ink is far more discernible. The box dispenser mechanism (made of paper) is a bit fiddly, so I've improved it by using clear scotch/sello tape to keep it from coming apart. I've also taped some of the backer paper to the box so that it's easier to un-stick when pulling the tape off for another piece. With these improvements, this product is much more pleasant to use.

Better than expected.
At first it is tricky to separate the tape, but other than that it works really well. Quite strong for a thin semi-translucent tape. First few inches had a glue marks as shown on some pictures from other buyers, but the rest of the tape is good.

great for my journals
I use this tape to add pages to my Bible and journals mainly. It is almost invisible, yet very sturdy. You can cut it lengthwise too. You can use scissors or just tear off the length you need. The trick for getting the backing off is to take a straight pin and gently stick it through a layer. (There is a backing on the tape.) It lifts right off. (The two layers come apart. Until then you can handle it because it isn't sticky until you take the layers apart. A good feature.)

Ridiculous dispense design
This company expects you to use their product out of the cheap cardboard packaging the tape comes in. The roll of tape itself contains no starter tape at all. It is obvious that this company has been getting by without major complaints to their manufacturing. The tape itself might be quite a good solution, the company that makes this needs to get their act together, the dispense action of this product is pathetic and makes the product look cheap because it is cheaply produced with the same process for decades. Rarely have I seen a product rely on such primitive methods for use. And I am surely not the first who has noticed how cheap this company is with how they have prepared their product for use. I am embarrassed for Lineco. Spend some money and make the product easier to use.
