Great Product a couple of Pointers.
The side rack uses 1 secure Torx type bolt on each side (T50); get it at Sears; I had to buy the whole set but if you plan ahead you can make sure they have a single one in stock or get them to order one. In addition, the Yamaha locks that come with the bike also use security Torx bolts a T8 or T10 I believe. Measure the length of each bolt but do not include the head just the shaft length and separate them by length and type. The instruction manual could be better but it isn't terrible. Make sure you look at the images of the bolts and determine whether they are using a fully threaded bolt or not. If you don't have a torque wrench and hex sockets or allen wrenches borrow them from a friend or work. Definitely make sure that all bolts are started in an assembly prior to tightening any of them and use thread lock. Over all I am completely satisfied and would recommend the product. My panniers look awesome and the side mounting kit was designed to bolt to the motorcycle so everything fits like a glove,

Japanese stupidity
The mounting frame and brackets themselves seem to be properly engineered (so far...), however I encountered a few frustrating and idiotic issues during the installation. Considering the time that I had to waste trying to get this dang frame to install, I decided to share my thoughts with my fellow American customers in order to warn them and maybe spare them the hassle. (1) The instructions are nearly useless when it comes to identifying what bolt goes where. On the right side bracket that mounts behind the passenger's foot peg, you will find yourselves trying to screw in one of the "short bolts" (as per drawing on the instructions) and realize that it's not even long enough to go through two brackets, a washer, and reach the thread to lock them in place. So you'll try the next size up, and discover that it's too long so it won't screw all the way in. I found the only solution to be to remove the washer in order to allow the bolt to get at least to the thread and then lock it with the little length left. Opposite issue on the on the other side: the bolt in question is ¼" too long to lock the supplied bracket in place, so you'll have to rely on the other 2 towards the bottom of the bracket to keep the pieces together. In case you're wondering: yes I tried to swap bolts but no matter what combination I used, 2 of them were far from being the right size. (2) the instructions' first page shows a list of all the hardware in the box with numbers associated with them (supposedly in order to help the customer find them easily)...and it would be a great idea if the damn individual plastic bags that contain the bolts one by one would report the same numbers on in order to match them! They have all kinds of useless bar codes and serial numbers, but the only number that's really needed is not there. (3) And this is where you'll really love the brain surgeon who designed this thing; the entire kit uses hex Allen bits EXCEPT for the 2 long bolts that hold the very back of the handle grips and the bag frame. The head of the bolt is no longer a hex Allen...it's a "tamper proof torx" of some Godforsaken size that nobody seems to have. Of course you'll realize all of that when everything else is already installed (since this is the end tail of the installation) so you'll wind up having to hand-screw these things in as far as you can, and then go to town trying to find the right socket/bit in order to finish the job. FYI I went to the Yamaha service department in town and even they didn't have the dang thing. Their comments were the same as mine: "how stupid is this? And why don't they include the dang socket/bit in the kit since they charged you nearly $1,100 for it?". So I purchased a full set of tamper proof torx bits (there's 7 of them in the set), and went home to discover that none of them fit!! After cussing Yamaha out for a few minutes, I went to an independent motorcycle repair shop who, after looking at the bolts in questions, chuckled and quoted the same comment from a few lines above. So, as I type, I'm still looking for the right bit in order to tighten this piece of junk once and for all and finally mount the bags. I don't know if I'm the only one who got the wrong size bolts in the kit, however in case this issue is encountered in other packages, YAMAHA owners beware of Japanese stupidity! Japanese people: get it together; in spite of our ridiculous political situation, I'd like to think that we are still the #1 country in the world and customer service still means something to us.

make it more easy
To make it more easy , get the T 50 and T10 before you start , them, identify by size in mm, and, mark every little plastic bag with its number from 1 to 19 , get all you need to do the work .follow the instructions and the diagram , use one by one piece by the number, and all will by easy and fast, everything fix very good and precise . remember Yamaha is not a junky bike is all made in Japan , and for them is easy to see and identify every metric component , the T50 and T6 tamper are good security , they are use also in the marine electronic for the same reason ,

Right item, great price
Exactly was it was supposed to be and good quality genuine Yamaha parts. Great price from this seller and it was shipped quickly. Installation wasn't too bad although you do need some special security allen type wrench or have to use a regular bolt with the same size etc.would buy from this seller again.
