Remo Ocean Drum 16 x 2,5" ET-0216-71-SD009, black

I use this ocean drum in my Reiki and sound healings. Even in large group settings people can still hear the beads flowing across the drum like the ocean. Everyone tells me at the end of their sessions that they could hear this ocean drum for hours because it is so soothing. Highly recommend and well worth the money. The size is perfect and I love the look.

Edit 7/29/2022 I contacted Remo and they replied the same day. They believe there’s an issue with it and are working on replacing the defective one. Chris from Remo has been very helpful and I’m really impressed with their customer service. Edit 7/25/2022 At first this drum worked great, but over time I noticed that it didn’t sound the same or feel the same while using it. It sounds and feels like most of the beads have clumped together and no matter what I do it doesn’t help. Now this drum just sits there because it sounds horrible. I was worried that this drum may be too loud for me, but thankfully it isn’t. It’s really soothing to listen to and a joy to use. Shipping was very fast and I was surprised at how quickly it arrived. Great experience with this purchase.

Absolutely love the versatility of this instrument! The sound is awesome.

The sound is great on one side. the other side is a bit louder. Bought for the muted aspect, and it is softer than other ones . Must keep dry to keep its sound right from what i have been told.

This drum is exceptionally heavy and I wish I would have ordered a drum that was lighter and less dense sounding.

This version of the ocean drum is muted, much quieter than the other ocean drums I use. It truly sounds like the more subdued wave crashes you hear at night on the beach. Pretty cool. A little harder to get a continuous motion of sound than the other versions with a clear side, but once you get the feel of it, it’s smooth like velvet

Wife asked if I had an 'ocean drum' and was looking for one to travel with. I understood the larger the drum, the more 'ocean' one has. This drum is a great traveler as you can carry it on an airplane, it's 16" diameter is great to get a circular pattern for the rolling ocean effect and each side has a distinct sound for drumming. Looking forward to getting to know this better, but VERY happy with purchase, price and delivery. Thanks!

A very versatile ocean drum. Perfect for use in small spaces, one-to-one sound healing sessions and also for group sound baths where you want to create a sound that is more relaxing rather than triggering. I thoroughly recommend getting this drum. The Remo Night Waves Ocean Drum is quieter, softer and less crashy than a typical ocean drum, which makes it great for people who are hypersensitive to sound. In a one-to-one capacity in a small healing space, it prevents overwhelming the client with too much volume. The two sides of the drum create different sounds: one side is padded with sound dampening material so it creates a softer and slightly muffled sound, while the other side is louder, crisper and more vibrant. Playing with the contrast creates great dynamics as you can shake and flip the drum over so it goes from the soft to crisp or vice versa. It's worth watching Remo's YouTube video to get an idea how to play it. This drum is a bit more difficult to play insofar as you can't see the little balls through one side of the drum like on a typical ocean drum, so you don't know exactly how many balls you have left in a tilt before you run out of whoosh! It takes some practice to play it by feel without awkward pauses when you run out of balls mid flow. I've found the best way around this is using the kinetic energy of your body's own movement to ensure there is always movement in the drum. It becomes a bit like a dance and the sounds it creates is absolutely mesmerising. Feedback from clients is that the sounds are very relaxing and it feels very cleansing when the drum is played through their energy field.
