My favorite food for koi and goldfish in the pond. I've been using Hikari food for about 20 years. I can't stand Wardly, Tetra or other brands that dirty the water and provide questionable nutrition.I have a 2500 gallon- three level pond, and at this point I only have five very large(apx. 10-14") koi and goldfish. I have held off buying more fish because I have a knee injury that kept me from intensive care of my pond. Luckily, my son who designed my pond, has been helping me, and my husband has also helped with what he calls, "The money pit"....I'm not fooled, a pond with waterfalls adds a most beautiful dimension to a backyard, and not overly difficult if you understand the ecosystem!Hikari pond pellets are an integral part of keeping the ecosystem alive~ my fish are gorgeous and healthy. I (heart) Hikari!I also appreciate the reviews on Amazon. I switched to using more sinking food this summer, after reading about fish swallowing air. All of my fish losses have been due to dropsy, and I think swallowing air might have been the cause.Love your fish, and happy ponding!

If you want to see rapid growth and healthy koi, you just can't beat this stuff. I mix it with the Hulk XXX growth formula. 1 summer of this and you'll be amazed.

Got this because my old goldfish developed swim bladder disease after many years of floating pellet food. Within a few days, my baby was fine again!

Fish love this and are growing fast.

It's fish food, designed for colder seasons. I feed koi both at the top of the water and with sinking pellets at the bottom. These are the sinking kind. As soon as I start feeding at the top they come up for a few seconds and then immediately go to the bottom looking for these, even if I haven't put them in yet. Seems to be great quality and they always get eaten up quickly.

I do like the sinking-type food for my outdoor pond. However; it does not all sink and if I don't get my hose out to spray the floating pellets (forcing them to sink), they will end up in my skimmer. Probably about 3/4 sinks and 1/4 does not. That's why I gave it four stars. Anyway, I have been buying this brand for many years and my koi and goldfish like it.
