Here is a great new pop record with some older help - the songs are good and the crew is excelent richard and linda thompson'daughter Kami effort same as her brother Teddy produced quality pop/rock/country music . Just like song "God bless the child that got his own"

Acorns don't fall far from the trees here. Music is first rate, and am looking forward to the next release by Ms Thompson!

Nicely done with Richard Thompson on guitar on at least one selection. Nothing outstanding, but nice for a first effort.

Kami is a fab songwriter and singer, interesting wording and lovely melodies!

This is an excellent cd by a young artist from a musical family who is already showing evidence of an individual songwriting style. The material on the cd is diverse enough never to fall into the sameness common among artists, young and old. Some of the songwriting is exceptional, solid melodies and thoughtful lyrics Standouts include Tick Tock, ( poppy but not frothy), Little Boy Blue (probably the best melody on the cd), Blood Wedding, (country tinged), and Don't Bother Me. The individuality is noteworthy in the lyrics of the songs from a new release, because it is not just stylistic but radiates from the lyrics in a sense of one person asserting their self-hood. There is a cynicism and world awareness, and personal awareness in terms of relationships that never becomes vicious Ms Thompson released an EP titled Bad Marriage. This is well worth seeking out as it contains two of her finest songs, Oh World and Nothing Worse. Lyric examples "All that I felt/When the rainbow hit the ground/Was dirt," and "Thought you were the best of men/ It makes no sense/ She's so unlike me/Yes she's thin but I'm pretty/ Screw you guys." I dislike going with the gender tag, but it is refreshing to hear this sort of self esteem coming from a female artist given so much of what is out there. If you are like me, enjoy being able to say, "I knew them when", this might be a good bet. Either way, the songs will be the reward.

I am always a little weary of music from the children of famous musicians. However, Kami Thompson on Love Lies has produced a set of songs, with her own wonderful style and voice.
