More powerful than expected
This portable shaver is a nice placement for my 20 year-old Braun Pocket Go M90 shaver. I would have loved to get another M90 but the most recent reviews indicate that they have changed the foil design so the shaver no longer works as effectively as my old model. I thought I'd give this one a try and was pleasantly surprised and happy that I did. There are several advantages this shaver has over the M90. It is really small! It will fit into a travel toiletry bag very well. Not sure if it's because the blade is new but it shaves cleanly easily. Afterwards I actually feel the slight razor burn that tells me the job is well done. The possible disadvantage is that it is not water proof, or if it is then it's not in the product description. However this is not an issue. The blade snaps off really easily so rinsing it without getting the shaver wet is simple. All in all it's a powerful device that is highly portable and effective.

AMAZING. Once again low price & quality=Value.
The media could not be loaded. This was another really pleasant surprise from China. A great Panasonic shaver, at a very low price. I wanted to touch up where I'd style my beard with a clipper, to get really smooth. Turns out it shaves so smoothly my neck was soft as a baby's ass. This little Panasonic performed as well as my Braun shaver. There's a handy screen cover, it takes a couple of AA batteries. A slide switch for ON/OFF. I've used it for several weeks now with the same batteries and no slowdown. It's also a handsome little square unit. A real value anyway you cut this, quality and very inexpensive. Thanks for the beauty Amazon! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! A real treat.

small and light weight
This rating is for this low priced, NOT top of the line, travel shaver. It works well for me, you need to use it every day or 2 or it will be difficult to shave all the whiskers effectively. It's not gonna be a great shave, exactly what would you expect for a $20 shaver? But I like to travel light, and I go camping a lot and this works fine for that. I would not use it if I had a hot date coming up, but it keeps a close enough shave for me. It's small and lightweight, it uses 2 AA batteries which I can find anywhere in the world so it's perfect for me for traveling/camping

Buy one. Note the top/cover; get a container for traveling. Good, really good, otherwise.
Have not yet used. Finally found something to replace the one I had in MCT (after boot) and beyond. In 91, it had a thin cover that slid over the top covering 80% of unit, sans on/off switch. This one has a clear, thick cover that just protects the screen.I plan to find a clamshell or other small latchable container, with a soft lined inside, like foam rubber, to dampen ruff handling; for use when put in luggage/travel bags/backpacks. This is the only (possible) issue I can see: cover comes off and screen gets damaged/creased.Great for 1 day, and evening touch-ups. Never used past 3 days growth. Note, still need to see if rechargeable batteries can be used in unit. (Use rechargeable in city, disposables while in field.)For the price; get several if you always need to be clean-cut and sharp. Office draw, edc bag, vehicle (if you keep up with checking on the batteries).Try one, go from there.

Be careful changing the batteries!
I needed a razor without the need of cables and plugs for travel. When I replaced the 2 batteries for the 2nd time, the contacts all but disintegrated. The contacts are made with the cheapest, thinnest metal imaginable. The first time the razor didn't run, I noticed the batteries were very loose inside the compartment. I used a toothpick to extend the contacts back out to their original position. It worked of course. A few uses later, wouldn't start. I'd shake it, it worked. Next use, nothing. So opened the compartment, removed a battery, and one of the contacts just fell out. I was able to bend and fold it into place, modify it, used a bit of super glue, voila! It's working. But for how long? Not optimistic that's going to last much longer. C'mon y'all, spend an extra 12 cents and make it a much better razor.

It isn't a razor, but it'll do
This thing is built and designed very elegantly, really feels like the peak of 80s/90s Japanese electronic design. Good heft, the battery compartment and blade guard clip firmly with a satisfying click, it makes enough noise to convince you it has power without being chattery or irritating. From the tasteful molded grip lines on the exterior to the safety catch on the power switch the attention to detail and user experience of this little shaver is comparable to a Casio wristwatch; inexpensive but sturdy and reliable. This shaver, however, is not a replacement for a proper shave, the foil design makes it hard to get any decent lines and I do notice it is a little more irritating than my safety razor, despite providing less close of a shave.I use this shaver between actual shaves on my neck, and it keeps stubble from becoming sloppy looking. For the price, convenience, and the legitimate joy that it is to use, it's a 5 star little tool. BUT it isn't a razor, and shouldn't be expected to perform like a real wet shave, especially for those who know how soft and smooth a real shave can be.In short, buy it, and also buy a real razor.

Excellent Razor!
Great power for battery operated. It takes the larger batteries which is awesome. My beard is pretty light, so it's perfect for me. I even bought one for my dad.I don't understand how there can be one negative review honestly. It might eat up batteries pretty soon, but so far so good!(update) I'm using rechargeable batteries now with this and still working excellent!
