This has been a great microphone for my needs. It is truly plug and play. Nothing to download or install, which is great. The main use for my microphone is to record education pieces. The sound quality is great, i actually really like the way it looks. It came with 2 different types of wind screens: the cover and the detachable screen and they both work well. Worth the money IMO.

We needed a matched pair of cardioid pattern microphones with desk stands and shock mounts for our weekly video podcast show, Camera Chat. All of the reviews said we needed to spend about $200 each for the quality we need, but we decided to take a chance and spend way less than half that for a pair. Worst case, we figured we could send them back and start over. We are NOT sending them back!! These microphones performed far above our expectations and ended up being just perfect for the weekly video show. Sure, the rear and side rejection is not as good as a $400 microphone, but they are quiet and clear and crisp with a decent cardioid pattern. Certainly as good as many $200 competitors that don't come with a desk stand, pop filter, shock mount, or aluminum clad carrying case. And the built-in A/D converter to USB works quite well too. But the best part of the deal way MAONO customer service. One of our two carry cases had a crack in the aluminum side plate from rough handling in shipping. One email the customer service and they made it RIGHT. Nearly unbelievable level of support considering the low price. I would definitely order again.

What an experience purchasing the Maono USB Professional Gaming Podcasting Microphone Kit has been. I'm just starting out. I am trying to get my gear in order (slowly) and after many hours of watching and reading reviewer content I decided on this one for $64.99 It arrived promptly and my excitement soared as I pulled the aluminum alloy carrying case out of the retail box and opened it. Inside the well padded case I found in the kit a Maono USB microphone, 2.0 USB cable, shock mount, telescoping microphone mount, heavy duty table stand, a pop filter and a foam filter. The first thing I noticed was the carrying case does not lock as described. The second thing I noticed was the USB cable was thin, flimsy and had multiple kinks throughout. When I plugged it into the USB port the female end was loose and there was far too much play in the port for a recognizable connection and my computer was unable to recognize any additional hardware while the microphone was not responding at all. I straightaway called Amazon Tech Support. An amazing, helpful rep quickly put a new and better cable into my cart at $00.00 and it promptly arrived. I was able to finally troubleshoot this mic in my computer settings with no help from a business card sized instruction insert due to the microscopic font and images. Useless just throw that away and let your computer walk you through the work. Tada! Maono USB Mic is live and I recorded a demo session. The microphone's pattern is cardioid, meaning you must speak close enough to the diaphragm at the front of the microphone. The Maono label must be facing your voice. Don't do what I did, pop it into the shock mount backward and then think it's not working properly. This microphone delivers a deep, rich low output and cancels ALL extraneous noise. Even if someone is sitting on the other side of the mic coughing it will be cancelled. The stand is very, very sturdy and heavy. Fully extended it does not lose its balance and I trust in its capacity to keep any of the larger microphones upright. I have yet to cultivate a more in depth relationship with this microphone, but for what I have discovered thus far it's an awesome piece of equipment for the money especially in addition to all the goodies that come with the kit less the crappy USB cable.

After looking on the market for a good but affordable USB microphone to use for traveling purposes, I came across this USB Microphone Kit from Maono. Inside the package you get 1 large diaphragm USB Condenser Mic, a USB A to USB B cable to commect to your computer/laptop thats about 6ft in length which is very generous, you also get a very sturdy and adjustable metal desktop microphone stand that can be adjusted and includes a metal shock mount, wind screen and a pop filter to reduce plosives. This mic package cost around $60 on Amazon and is a pretty good bargain considering the included items that come along with the microphone itself. The microphone has a cardiod polar pattern and the sound quality of the microphone is decent to good with room for improvement post production. The Mic is also of a solid metal build so it doesn't feel cheap and is light weight for carrying arpujd in your backpack when your on the go. I do recommend this microphone for those who are looking for a USB microphone solution that includes the necessary components for your podcasting and streaming needs

I bought this microphone to record music at home. I wanted a decent starter microphone I felt comfortable using that had a great sound. After using this all day since I unboxed it, I'm quite pleased with the quality. First off, the microphone was packaged nicely and had lots of foam to protect all the pieces. Assembly was easy even though the instructions weren't super clear. The base is nice and heavy and everything screwed in nicely. The only thing that concerned me was that the pop filter felt a little cheap so I would be extra careful with it so it doesn't break. After plugging it in to my mid 2012 Macbook Air, it worked seamlessly and sounds fantastic! **Edit: This is perfect for beginners who are recording an untreated room. There's slight distortion on the high end if you get too loud, too close. That being said, it's sensitive enough to produce a great sound if it's placed well, but not sensitive enough to pick up every little sound in your house - which is what you want if you're recording in an untreated room. Great for beginners in my opinion. Good luck!

I bought this item because I am a content creator on You Tube. My previous Mic was from a gaming headset and frankly was terrible had terrible feed back and background noise. However I didn't want to spend alot of money but saw this product and was like give it a try. Well after 2 weeks of testing and videos going up and New Subscriber coming in. I am now happy to say WoW man did this ever improve my Audio. This Mic was A easy to put together and install and probably is the best thing I have purchased for $60 buck in forever. My channel continues to grow because of this product! I am super pleased with the results great Mic Great price I cannot say enough good things about it. I wish I had gotten the case to go with it but that's on me! I plan to promote this Mic on my You Tube channel and actually have got one of my friends that wanna get it as well. Cant say enough how happy I am with it!

I got shipped a defective product ================================================================================= FULL REVIEW: Let me start off by saying I've had many different products from Maono in the past. Some i've loved, others not so much, and that's where the review for this product comes in. When I placed my order for this product, I have to admit that I was excited to get my hands on it;Both due to prior experiences with the company and the very few videos I was able to find online about this product. However, upon getting the mic set up and ready to record, I immediately ran into a problem. After playing back my recorded audio, I noticed that the audio sounded like I was clipping even though my gain meters were reading a healthy signal level of -18dbfs; giving me an over saturated sound to the point of digital distortion. It is for this reason that I do think I was shipped a defective model and cannot recommend this microphone to anyone at this time. (audio sample in attached video)
