Engrossing read about little known aspect of India’s crime scene
I saw the Hindi film Gangubai, about one of the women showcased in the book and enjoyed the movie so much I decided to read the book

Interesting book
This book has to read with Dongri to Dubai. These two books complement each other. The author is a veteran crime reporter and has covered a wide section of female mafia, contract killers and molls of Dons. As his earlier books, this is engrossing and worth the money. Though I would say that the proof reading was extremely poor. Too many spelling mistakes in the book.

but the writing could have been better. Some of the narratives seemed incomplete
The stories were interesting, but the writing could have been better. Some of the narratives seemed incomplete, particularly as the book progressed. Also, the kindle version has some typos as if OCR software had been used and the results not proofread by a human. There were quite noticeable, but didn't necessarily interfere with the reading of the book.

Hidden truth
This book is fascinating. We always heard, read about notorious male gangsters. Never knew about these women who are far more interesting, creative, used their brain to conduct crime.

Good research, but felt disconnected at multiple places
The narration was not upto the standards of Dongri to Dubai. I believe the characters could have been more related to the characters and incidents which Zaidi sahab narrated in Dongri to Dubai. At least I wished that. But Still hats-off to the amount of research he has put in.

that's some insight
It's amazing how living in mumbai, as a mumbaikar, me and me like me have never heard of these names. Be it Dongri to Dubai or this , Hussain Zaidi has brought into the open a dangerous and ruthless Mumbai that most never knew existed, but did suspect. A fascinating read this. Do not miss this one.
