After trying many dog foods, my 9-year-old has officially settled on this one. I mix it in with his kibble on days when he’s not getting human-grade meals, and he always eats it enthusiastically.The size and texture are just right - soft enough for his mouth that’s now missing 15 teeth, but still substantial. The pieces aren’t too hard or crumbly, and they blend well with other food.I also love the quality: clean, recognizable ingredients and a raw boost without committing fully to a raw-only diet. The taste clearly wins him over - he picks these pieces out first! High-quality, balanced, and a big hit in our house.

Perfect for training and as a meal topper

This is the best topper I have ever tried! My dog is a rescue GSD. When I first got her, she was so so stressed she wouldn’t eat. To top it off, she was underweight and wouldn’t eat. I talked to my vet about it, but my vet agreed the dog was too stressed to eat. I tried feeding her in different places, but it didn’t help. To get her to eat, I had to physically touch her and try to coax her into eating. I eventually tried toppers which helped. She still didn’t eat as much as she needed, but she ate more. At one point, I bought every sample size topper at the pet store to try to get her to eat. It still took 3 weeks before she finished her first bowl.However, these were magic! She was drooling over the bowl and was so excited she started sniffing around the entire kitchen looking for more food! After eating her toppers, she even picked the bowl up and kept it!I highly recommend these to anyone who has difficulty keeping their dog interested in food or just to mix things up. They are pricier, but I feel good knowing that good ingredients are in them. Also, my dog seems to be able to taste the difference in human grade meat. She responds much better to human grade meat and is a lot more excited about it. Overall, your dog will love it.

Update: please be warned if this ships from Amazon alone as a single item, they will either slap a label on the bag or put it in a bag and it will be DUST when it gets to you; sometimes Amazon will even smash it to fit it into a smaller bag especially when you order the 22oz one! It is best to order directly from Open Farms (free shipping) because they properly ship it in a fitted box and it comes uncrushed and as it is designed to be served to your pets. The food that is packaged and handled incorrectly by Amazon are a hassle to return and they do not understand why you are returning them and will just put it back on the shelf to send out the dust to someone else, or in my case I got the exact same bag when I reordered, because I marked the bottom. The dust can be added to homemade dog food to boost the nutrition, so not a waste but not what I want to pay $60 for; I won’t order it as a single item again if Amazon is the shipper/handler. The food is still great, I’m not downgrading my 4 stars, because Amazon can’t seem to understand proper packaging and handling. This for the last 8 years is a common theme to Amazon that they do not train people how to pack; if the FDA did an inspection they would fail because you don’t pack food and chemicals together and Amazon just cannot get that so it’s up to you to place your orders so it doesn’t happen.It is fine (most of the time) with my monthly order as that comes in a box. Dogs are in love with this food. 4 star because it is very expense compared to other freeze dried brands.

have attention to SIZE: cuz I didnt ..This is 3.5 oz..its a CRAZY price..5 times the other quaility Air dry that I have bought..and it even was powdery so there was waste. BIG MISTAKE ( and I LIKE this company)

My 7 year old Italian greyhounds have always been fed stella & chewys freeze dried chicken patties and loved it. Very healthy!UNTIL this last year when something changed at Stella & chewy and our girls would no longer touch it and started to have digestive issues. S&C is very expensive and I got tired of throwing it out, so we started feeding human grade ground turkey and experimenting with other freeze dried dog foods. Quickly I came upon Open Farms Harvest Chicken and wow did they love it. I now feed them a combination of human grade turkey and Open Farms and our family is happy again!
