You will require a pressure reduction device and a size reducer. I would recommend getting either the patio or garden kit and use this for additional line as needed.

Can this be connected to hose from house faucet?

This product was designed to be attached to a 1/2" distribution hose with individual metering connectors. The metering connectors are punched into holes made with a sharp spike. Once the metering device is inserted into the 1/2" hose, the water can then be directed to this 1/4" distribution tubing. This spreads the water over a wider area. The size of the metering device (i.e. 2 g/hr, 5 g/hr, etc) determines how many of the 1/4" weeping holes should be on that metering connection. Hope this helps.

It can be used to water vegetables plants and gardens for human consumption.

I do not know of any attachments that can increase the water pressure; but you can use nozzles that decrease the diameter of the emitted water column that can increase the force of the water emitted.
