Acrylic Floor Polishes are often used to rejuvenate hardwood floors. These coatings cause uneven or unsightly appearance issues over time and must be removed in order to successfully apply professional urethane coatings. If the Acrylic Test Kit (B9166) has determined that an acrylic floor polish is present, use Basic Coatings Dissolver Floor Polish Remover to strip the acrylic floor polish from the hardwood floor.

Glad I found this, giving me happiness
I had been regularly using a "reviver" that said it would make my floors look like new. But I was cleaning my floors practically everyday because I saw marks, dirt, flat areas next to shine. What a dirty floor. I hired a floor cleaning company and a small percentage of the acrylic did come up but the majority did not. I recommend doing small sections at a time. I'm noticing lately that I am not dirtying up my floors anymore just by cooking and walking. I wet the SH Mop, available online. I own 8 different cloths, and turn them over and do the other side. I do an incredible amount of laundry this way, but I am so satisfied with the dirt removed! Should this be done in one day? NOOOOOO? It takes time to build a city. But the company who cleaned my floors said they could use a dissolver in a subsequent visit and put on an unnamed dissolver and it would cost $1.50/sq. foot. So their process would cost me $600 just for their treatment. I use a non-scratch scrubber and my SH-mop and I highly recommend Squeaky as a follow up. No need for a bucket. Just wet the SH mop a little and use a teeny amount of dissolver. Move it around for 2 minutes. Scrub (you can hear and see the acrylic or wax moving off). Wipe off. Follow with a new cloth for Squeaky cleaner, made by the same company. One gallon will last a long, long time and cover your needs. I don't have the experience of needing to use a vacuum. This is the product for me. Never use a floor shiner on hardwood.

Works well
My wife used BONA floor polish. It was a disaster. Don't do it!!!!!! I called them and they told me to read the secret code on the bottom. They basically told me that stuff we had just purchased from HD was too old. The customer service agent told me to buy another of their products to remove it. I read the reviews on that and saw that their remover didn't work to remove their product. People recommended this. It was some work but it did remove the milky slurry otherwise known as Bona.

Wow, it actually works.
I used this product to remove acrylic wax from laminate flooring. It works great. Spray small areas, let sit for three minutes, scrub and rinse (neutralize).

Amazing!
We purchased our home with the nasty film on the hardwoods. I tried several things to clean it with no luck. This stuff works great and I am so happy I found it.
