I am 61 years old and have arthritis in the shoulder and hips.I was looking to replace my Dyson V8 Animal cordless vacuum which I have had for 3 years. This was purchased for light weight due to my arthritis I was never 100 % pleased with the unitThe shark is heavier to push although it has a few functions to reduce the effort needed. It has a flick switch handily placed near the top of the handle to reduce the suction of the vacuum. Also there is a switch that enables the vacuum to alternate from hard floor to carpets, better upgrade on the Dyson. Which enabled a much better clean.The unit itself comes apart making the stairs easy to clean and lightens the weight considerably. Add the wand to the hose and you have a vacuum that reaches the ceiling corners with little effort, great for spider hunting. The wand is also useful for cleaning under beds with the carpet attachment.This vacuum is sold to pet owners, I have a Bichon a recent addition is a wired haired Daschund. 2 different coats, the wire hair imbeds into fabric so the cleaner is very effective in removing these type of hairs, the crevice tool works well between the cushion on my leather couch, I would imagine the other tools will clean a fabric couch very satisfactorily.The anti hair wrap technology is a great boost saves getting the head clean with a screwdriver or knife 😳. I’m not sure the lights on the front do anything to assist as I always clean when it’s light anyway.The dust pan is small but comparative with the Dyson so I am used to frequent empties, but as the mechanical release means you don’t get your hands dirty this poses no problem. The dust unit releases/returns easily from the/to unit.I have used this vacuum for a couple of weeks before reviewing to give a fair assessment.I am very pleased with its performance, it is slightly more heavy than the Dyson but the versatility outperforms the Dyson in cleaning capabilities. The fact the unit can disassemble is also a bonus for manoeuvring the unit around the house. It has taken a little while to get to know how to get the most out of all the settings as it is not plug and play. I think that environmental impact is a positive too as the lithium batteries in the Dyson need careful disposal.The build quality feels more robust than the Dyson and replacement parts are easily accessible.I paid less on Amazon than going to Shark direct and was delivered next day through Prime so I am very pleased with this purchase on all counts value for money, performance, build quality and sustainability 5 stars

I am absolutely enamored with this vacuum cleaner. I didn't know that a household appliance could make a person so happy lol. My previous vacuum cleaner was a Henry and I absolutely hated it. It was annoying to move around, the hose was too short which meant I was always bent over, the cord tangled- it was generally just the most annoying appliance I have ever used. I saw this vacuum cleaner on a deal and thought I would give it a go, the reviews were good and it looked slick and like it would tick all the boxes for me.It works so well and it is so so nice to use after using a Henry for several years. It pulled so much dust out of my carpets it was disgusting. Since purchasing this vacuum I have noticed the overall level of dust in my home has reduced significantly. When we used to clean the house within a few hours you could see dust settling on glass surfaces etc that is no longer the case and I've only vacuumed my full home about five times since purchase.I thought the anti-hair wrap technology was a gimmick but actually it works really well. I have nearly waist length hair that gets everywhere and I was forever having to take scissors to my Henry to cut the hair out of it. When I check the head for this vacuum cleaner there is nothing wrapped around either of the brushes, which is fantastic.It is slightly heavier but it is easy to manoeuvre, it doesn't feel heavy unless you actually lift it up. The lift away and all the different ways you can use the vacuum cleaner make cleaning your home a slick and easy job. I love that I can vacuum the floors and then pull out the handlr to do the baseboards and easily lift off the canister to clean other places all with the click of a button.I really can't say enough good things about this vacuum cleaner and I would wholeheartedly recommend it. Saying that I wouldn't pay £300 for it, it might be worthwhile but that just seems like a lot of money for a vacuum to me. I purchased this for around £179 and it feels like an excellent value for money at that price.
