I never thought about using it for that purpose. I bought it because it is an Evinrude grease for lubricating the starter. I would say no. It is a grease. I would use a Remington low temp oil or BreakFree or something along those lines. Hope this helps

I don't think you would want to use this on your freezer. You should try to find a 'food grade' product.
