Requires BIOS setting changes to work
First day review of WD 19 dock with XPS 13 9380. I have had nothing but dock issues following the latest 9380 BIOS update. Problems include intermittent connection to monitor, failure to work properly with a simple USB switching hub, and computer shutting down repeatedly requiring force restart. I followed all instructions when connecting this new dock and had the same issues. Then I came across this article:Dell USB-C and Thunderbolt Docks (WD15, TB16, TB18DC, WD19, WD19TB, WD19DC, D6000) - BIOS Settings and Driver Installation for TroubleshootingThis article will guide you through the installation and basic troubleshooting process for Dell USB-C and Thunderbolt Docking Stations WD15, TB16, TB18DC, WD19, WD19TB, WD19DC, and D6000.Last Modified:13 Mar, 2020Article ID:SLN308303I followed the instructions to update the BIOS settings, and the dock now works properly. Be advised that NOT all of the options mentioned are available in the 9380 BIOS including “enable USB power share” and “allow USB-C dock support”. For now, the dock is working. I did need to plug the USB switching hub into the front USB port on the dock. I hope this helps and good luck. DELL could be a bit more clear about these issues.

East set up
Easy set up, works just right for my desk needs. Small enough not to be in the way of desktop items.

SCAM - DO NOT BUY. "Dell" will send a used part that may not work.
"Dell" sent a unit that was very obviously used: cables twisted, a LOT of scratches on the unit, connectors slightly bent, etc. As expected, the unit did not even power on. Now I have wasted at least a week as I order and wait on a replacement dock (from a different source, of course), and have to go to the trouble of returning this one.Whomever Dell is contracting with to sell these accessories is harming their reputation. I will definitely never buy a Dell product again unless I order direct from their website, and neither should you.

Get it while you can
This is the only dock station that kind of works and I tried them all - Targus, Kensington, Plugable, HP, CalDigit, whatever.. all have issues! This only gave me two problems with my fleet of laptops so far, which compared to other docks - are very minor: monitors didn't come on on SP7 after cold boot the very first time and out of the blue USB hub stopped working when it was plugged in to my ThinkPad, which got fixed by unplugging the dock and plugging it back in. Now, the main issue with these docks is that they are EOL and being replaced with WD19S and WD19TBS. Dell folks claim the only difference is that built-in DAC was removed in the S versions, but apparently that is not true. I got the WD19S, thinking that it will resolve the USB hub issue, as there are less devices attached to it, but it had charging issues, where after sometime it stops charging the laptop so you have to replug the dock. It seems like they actually changed the PD controller and who knows what else, so the dock is completely different. Get WD19 while there is still stock...

Works better than prior iterations, USB-C connector started falling apart after seven months
What I like:Compared to earlier models of this, this works well with Ubuntu 20 and multiple monitors, which has been a thorn in my side in the past. What I don't like:The plastic covering the connector has broken off, and I've owned this for seven months. So, maybe not the most durable parts.
