Failsafe deadbolt door lock that replaces a standard knob type non-deadbolt lock.
This lock is the best of both worlds. From a security standpoint, it replaces a standard knob type non-deadbolt lock with a deadbolt and integrates both a security key that can't be easily copied and a keypad (the main selling feature) that is 100% mechanical and requires no battery. The installation can be a bit tricky if you're a novice, but if you have a standard 12v or better drill and have or can purchase a spade or Forstner bit and are handy with a chisel, this should be a relatively simple install. I have installed on both internal and external doors and on both the lock's plate width is wider than that of the original lock, requiring either chiseling down of the door jamb and sometimes the door or else using the lock without the doorjamb plate (having the deadbolt simply extend into the wood of the door jamb).Pros--Increased security, keyless entry, difficult to copy security keys, deadbolt and price.Cons--Can be difficult to install for a novice or someone without power tools and the combination can be ascertained by someone who can disassemble the lock from the inside, width of plate needing affixed to doorjamb usually requires additional chiseling.

No auto lock option
Why did you pick this product vs others?:Disappointed that it has a deadlock style bolt instead of a regular door Bolt. Because of this there is no auto lock option. You must turn the knob to lock it each time you close the door. Other than that it seems to be very well made and easy to program. It's not at all hard to lock it when you close the door. I'll just have to remember to do it every time instead of it locking behind me automatically

No batteries required for this coded lock.
We put this lock on our outside shed door to lock it without having to look all over for the keys. It is a reversible lock so it will work on any door swing. There are Youtube videos that will show you how to program the code.

Well made...and would buy again.
I use to work with locks of all types and can tell you...this is a good one! Easy to configure, and easy to install. Also, the buttons don't stick like a lot of mechanical combination locks, which cause multiple try's. Also, the solid construction and key for back up...makes this is a great lock.

10 months service life
Mine failed after about 10 months. The internal parts of the unit are not working as they once were. I’ve come home several times to find that the door didn’t actually lock due to the malfunction going on inside. It seems to grind and stick together. If it was designed for an owner to disassemble and repair I could fix it most likely, however if you attempt to pry it open, it no longer fits together and is total garbage at that point. Safety and also Durability is definitely lacking. I can factor out interior rust because it far away from any moisture and our humidity is considered desert, average 30%.

Solid, well built, and no batteries!
This lock is well built yet simple, and needs no batteries. The installation was easy, and they provide clear instructions. It comes with two keys, and the lock can be opened either with the key or with the code. The lock does NOT lock automatically, and the user must turn the door knob to the left to reset the lock. The code operates with pins that you can manually change by removing the pin face from the lock and changing the pins. This is the only downside I can see, but to me it is worth it to not have to change batteries.Overall, i like this lock and am buying a second .

Works as intended, people saying screws don't line up didn't install the cover plate correctly.
Image shows dimpled key but I recieved standard schlage keys with lock. Dimpled keys were the reason i bought it, more resistant to picking. Aside from the keys being different however the lock works well and i like that it doesn't require batteries.
