Well made Stainless
Well made very solid bracket. Unfortunately it did not fit the tire bracket on my boat trailer weird hole pattern?)and I could not use it. Looks good though in that spare parts box in my garage!

Works for 4.80-12 (with some work)
Impossible to find a spare tire carrier for the narrow 4.80-12 tire on a PWC trailer with a 3" x 1.5" frame, probably because most folks would toss the small spare in the P/U bed or car trunk. The U-bolts are way too long and the threads stop too short to tighten. After months of looking, I found the perfect complement - an large 18-1701 Rubber Coil Spring Booster (available on Amazon). It is exactly 3" wide to cradle the U-bolt perfectly, and it provides plenty of offset to bring the threads close enough to the wheel so it can be tightened. Just saw off a couple inches from the U-bolts and it is a perfect fit.

Here are the Specs
The bottom of the "U" (where it fits onto a Trailer) is 3-1/16 [3 inches & a 1/16 inch] wide (inside) however inside Radius is a little broad at about 3/8 as measured so may not like 'sharp' radius rect/sq tubing. Uses 3/8 rod but FORMED threads so steps up to a 7/16-18 [nut] (verified). Legs of the "U" start to bend outward at about 3 inches and straighten back up at about 4-1/2 as measured from the INSIDE bottom of the "U". From the INSIDE bottom of the "U" to the end of the legs is about 8-1/2 inches with right at 3 inches worth of Threading on the ends. The Legs are on exactly 4 inch centers so you will have to mess around a bit with a 5 lug wheel. Fortunately this is NOT the 1/2 inch rod as Fulton carries and it can be bent fairly easy. The lock is a "Wafer" style lock (worked in Engineering at the USPS on their locks) which can be defeated without too much work. The 'Key' [inserted] allows you to spin a bolt down to cause the LOCK SHAFT shaft to engage a blind hole in the brass and literally tightens up against an O-Ring which ONLY retains the Lock Cylinder - do NOT pull the cylinder out, especially without the Key in place or the Wafers will 'fly off into never never land.' The lock is indexed every 90 degrees so I would NOT come close to tightening it down on the O-Ring either as it will only serve to wear out the O-Ring faster. The lock components are generally all brass however the Lock Shaft is "hardened(?) steel" which could Rust into place so I'd recommend some graphite upfront. Obviously this lock & spin-on locking brackets are a DETERRENT!

Great spare tire mount for a small trailer
Works well for small trailer. I did cut the threader ends down a bit, depending on how you mount it, mine stick out a few inches so you would not be able to use a regular lug wrench. Easy to cut with a hacksaw and file the ends smooth.

Nice Tire Carrier
I bought 2 of these for my small 5x8 trailer. I purchased new tire and wheels so i used the old wheels as spares. Using this kit made it easy to attach and lock the wheels to the trailer. I didn't have allot of tongue space so i mounted these on the side of the trailer infront of the rear wheel wells. Simple setup just twist it to you get to the tightness you want then put on the lock. Lock comes with a spare key....i have 4 keys now since i bought too....oh well. Don't pull a trailer without a spare!!!

Shoreline Marine U-Bolt Spare Tire Carrier
The Shoreline Marine U-Bolt Spare Tire Carrier worked great. There were no problem in matching up the holes for my boat and utility trailer spare tires. I ordered two but they only sent one. CS was very understanding and did not give me the run around. They had another one sent out within a few days. They corrected the error and even sent me out a third one. Shoreline Marine is a reliable company to purchase from and very professional.
