Quick Mug of Coffee
I have been hiking the AT all summer and now that it's getting colder I have been making a mug of coffee with hot chocolate in the afternoon as a treat/ energy boost. The combo of Toaks alcohol burner and Evernew cross stand is quick to set up and fun to make a hot snack. Sometimes I add an oatmeal packet and some protein powder to make power mud!

Made for Evernew burner; works poorly on Trangia, etc.
This cross-stand is light and easy to use and very stable. And on an Evernew burner it would probably work great. I made the mistake of purchasing for use with the Toaks siphon burner. The cross stand fits, but doesn't allow enough clearance for an efficient flame. After waiting 10 minutes to boil 500ml of water I gave up. Also tried on a Trangia burner. Fits great--very stable. But not enough clearance. (I actually struggled to keep the flame burning even after a full bloom). I haven't tried this cross stand on the Evernew burner--I assume it probably works fine with that. But if you're hoping for a stand you can use on other stoves, I'd get one with more clearance between the burner and the top of the pot stand.

light, well-enginieered, easy to use, functional. Perfect with Trangia/Canway combo.
There is nothing to dislike about this product. At first I used it only on my Trangia spirit burner stove (the commercial version of the Trangia, not the military version). It fit perfectly. Later I used it on my Canway wood burning camp stove as an alternative pot support. It fit perfectly, though I had to flip it over to use it for the Canway. When I had the Trangia spirit burner and the Canway wood burning stove together with this Evernew titanium cross support, I found at least ten different ways to use the three together. I had so many options for height above burner and wind shielding, I knew I had stumbled upon a winner combination. However, to keep my review centered on the Evernew titanium cross support, it is so simple, lightweight, functional and affordable that most people will never think to review it. So really the value of my review is for those who are seeking out affordable, modular, adaptable heat/cook systems, and so I can tell you first hand that this little product is a very very versatile addition to anyone's hike/camp/cook kit. Thank you for taking the time to read my review.

Works well for small stoves and pots or cups.
This will fit multiple types of small alcohol stoves. It's stable enough for a metal water bottle, a cup, or a very small pot. It's not going to work for a large pot. So good for boiling a cup of water for your dinner, not so good for making a full pot of pasta. It pairs well with a windscreen to make the best use of your stove.

great design!
this cross pot stand is the perfect companion for the mini trangia spirit burner or any of the copies with similar dimensions, it does not however work on the swedish army surplus trangia alcohol stove... evernew states that you should only use it with their titanium stove, however it fits just fine on my mini trangia, & elevates the pot or cup the perfect distance from the flame… pix show trangia stove with evernew cross supporting a 64oz. kleen kanteen, all seemed good & stable for multiple boils during my tests...if this is in stock buy it now as it seems out of stock more often than not...update: 11/01/16this stand has seen a lot of use with the mini trangia & works with all sorts of pots, cups, & containers, really glad i got it... i learned fast to keep a mini multitool with pliers in my mess kit to move the stand off the stove when i want to snuff the flames...there are sites out there that have plans for a diy cross stand for the trangia, & also videos on pretty simple cross stands...i am however seriously considering making the investment in the evernew ti alcohol stove & dx stand, looks like a sweet setup & may be the outfit i've been waiting for to use with the 27oz. klean kanteen water bottle...

Do not purchase this. Too short for Trangia burner.
The stand is light weight but who really cares? The stand is TOO short. In other words a pot, cup, etc is only sitting 5/8 of an inch above the flame if you use the device as intended. I bought a Trangia burner two weeks earlier and I have watched numerous videos that say that the “sweet spot” between the top of the stove and your vessel in which you are boiling water is 1 1/8 to 1 1/4 inches. This stand places the vessel 5/8 of an inch above the burner. You need about TWICE that distance for the burner to work effectively. My Trangia would not even bloom with this cross stand. You must turn the stand upside down on top of your burner to have an effective distance between the top of the burner and your vessel.I used a windscreen in relatively calm wind conditions and I folded the panels of the windscreen in to make it shorter so that it essentially wrapped closely around the burner and acted as a chimney. I purchased the windscreen on Amazon for $8 delivered. You must turn this cross stand upside down to get a decent boil. The cross stand works IF you turn it upside down. How hard would it be for a manufacturer to know the optimal distance between the burner and a vessel? The distance is all over the internet.I also recently purchased the Redcamp burner which comes with a stand. Luke from the Outdoor Gear Review gave a really negative review on that combo even though he used the same stove several years ago without complaint.I purchased a small “Bushcraft” fire grate (5 inches by 5 inches) or maybe 6X6. Use the stand that comes with the Redcamp stove. Place the burner in the bottom (not on the tabs) and place the fire grate on top. You’ve got plenty of distance between the burner and your pot. The grate provides a stable platform to place cooking vessels on. I purchased the small fire grate on Amazon for $8.I’ve read a few reviews where people complained about trying to snuff the burner when using a cross stand. The cross stand gets hot and it’s too hot to remove in order to place the sniffer cap on. Really? No joke. Here is a really easy and inexpensive solution. Buy a pair of leather gloves for $10. Rural King, Tractor Supply, Walmart, etc. You should have gloves with you anyway if you are camping in order to protect your hands from cuts or burns.Look for a stove stand that provides the optimal distance between the burner and your vessel. This one DOES NOT unless you turn it upside down.
