Great flavor, solid product
I've tried two other organic dandelion root products and this one is my favorite. I use it for my 'coffee' with organic, roasted chicory root granules (Anthony's brand). 1 tbsp dandelion root, 1/2 tbsp chicory steeped for 15 min in a large mug. The flavor of this dandelion root is the best- it's mild, not too bitter. The roots are smaller in size and so far the two bags I've purchased have been really clean- no weird debris as noted in other reviews. I hope the growing/harvesting practices are truly organic. This one is a bit more expensive than the other two I've tried but I think it's worth the price.

Wonderful fragrance! I use it with roasted chicory root ...
I get the un-roasted dandelion root and roast it in a baking pan at 220 degrees F. for 15-20 minutes. Wonderful fragrance! I use it with roasted chicory root to make a rich and robust herbal coffee (depending on how much chicory I use). The chicory adds density, the dandelion adds a wonderful bitter flavor and a slight caramel-ly sweetness at the same time. If I want, I add a bit of organic coffee to the blend, but for "coffee" late in the day, my recipe without caffeine is best. I even prefer the flavor of my no-coffee recipe over coffee: 1 heaping tsp. roasted dandelion root to 1/2 tsp. chicory root, and 10oz boiling water. You can start with 1tsp. each and experiment with the proportions. Dandelion root is a great purifier of kidney and liver, and chicory root is rich in inulin, a prebiotic that feeds gut flora. I have 2-3 mugs of this daily. I don't like to be without my dandelion root! I think I am so attracted to the fragrance and flavor because it does my body so much good! Excellent quality product.

great tea for diuretic effect!
I bought this tea to help get rid of water weight. I've only been drinking this for about 2 weeks, and have noticed that I've been needing to go to the restroom more frequently. I'm not exactly sure whether it's the tea working or if it's just me.I did some research about diuretics and found that dandelion root is one of the most helpful with ridding water weight. I went to Whole Foods to check out their options, but everything I found either had other things blended with dandelion or the dandelion root was roasted. I didn't want to drink roasted anything, so I chose to search on Amazon. This was the only product that I found was fitting to my expectations. This tea is organic, raw, and nothing blended. I have to say though, this tea is an acquired taste. My first time trying this tea wasn't really a good experience. It tasted like drinking the water after boiling vegetables. However, after a while, I started to actually enjoy the taste of it (as weird as it may seem). Now, I've decided it's actually a quite refreshing taste. I usually steep about 3 tablespoons of it in a french press for about 10 minutes before drinking. The steeped color of this tea is actually very light.I would advise anyone looking for a solution for losing water weight to give this a try.

THE CURE
I can go on and onabout this tea and no one will believe me but that's okay.I was dealing with fatigue that no amount of sleep would fix, having trouble with constipation, and urinating so much to the point I resented going to the bathroom and needing to change underwear frequently.I never got to the bottom of this issue with doctors who seemed puzzled but not concerned enough because it wasn't cancer. Which, irritated me. I went to go see a Reiki healer who suggested I get my liver checked by my doctor, from just seeing me, no symptoms mentioned. Funny enough that's how I came across this tea. I'm not here to say dandelion tea is the CURE to cancer, but oh my gosh this is the longest I've gone in a day without taking a nap. My pee doesn't SMELL (a miracle) and I've had quite an effortless time doing the #2 in the restroom! I am so so happy. To the people complaining about the taste, it's really not that bad. As a matter of fact I find it quite delicious. Add a cinnamon stick when you boil your tea in fact, if you want some natural seeetness. I boil this in my electric kettle and put the tea away in a 64oz pitcher and drink it everyday. I surely could have been on my way to cancer or disease had I not found a solution to my bladder situation/chronic fatigue if you will. I never really cared for Reiki healers but the one I saw might have been onto something. I am thankful it never got to the point of cancer/chemo (expenses, hello?) and everyday I am realizing the best nutrients on this earth are found from the soil beneath us, and not factories.Bravo, Starwest! Also: seems like I'll be getting at least a good 6 months supply from this bag. Amazing bargain! Never going to buy these in tea bags.
