BUY IT. WORTH IT.
THE BEST thing I have found ever.My first road trip with two kids under two. We have a jeep renegade. That was a hell of a ride. Not just them screaming but all the stuff we had to smush into the car! Luckily we bought this days before the trip instead of a car rental. It was amazing. Very durable, WATERPROOF. Great quality. No issues with installing on my roof, looked cool and I had no issues at all putting it back into storage when I was finished. It fits compact into a bag and back on my shelf!I am recommending this to everyone I know.Oh yeah so we put a stroller, pack and play, a kids bike, 2 duffle bags, booster seat, and miscellaneous items….i felt like we only used 2/3rds of what we could’ve. So yes this will fit your belongings along with what you put in a trunk!

Road-trip Space Saver!! Highly Recommend!!!
I never write reviews but I told my family that if this cargo carrier was successful on our trip to Ohio and back that I would write one. We drove 1200+ miles on curvy roads hitting speeds between 70-80 MPH and this did not budge. We went through heavy rain and it was completely dry on the inside! We fit 2 large luggage’s, 3 medium carry on sizes and 2 baby activity centers. This thing was a lifesaver because we were able to have our 3rd row up. We used 2 ratchet straps to make it even more secure. Definitely recommend and plan on using it again!

Not 100% Waterproof
Great carrier. Easy to use. Zippers are smooth. Not 100% waterproof. In normal rain conditions, our stuff stayed dry, but on our last drive we had REALLY heavy rain and winds and our luggage got wet, and we had to wash a bunch of clothing when we got to our destination because of it.

Waterproof and easy to pack
We’ve used ours a bunch of times, even on the highway during a rain storm. It’s waterproof and easy to pack up. It’s exactly what you think it is and we prefer this over the hard plastic cargo carriers.

Solid buy
I've had mine for 3 years and its held up really well. We use it 3-4 times a year for long trips 6-700 miles. Rain and snow, never had any issues with it.

Ripped within hours
By our first gas stop, the bottom seams on both sides were ripped half way down. Fast forward to latter that night (10 hours), a pouring rain and high winds lead to soaked bags/clothes. Ended up tossing this in the dumpster at the hotel, in the pouring rain.

Worked great for a road trip that included rain. Don't be surprised if your MPG suffers a bit.
TLDR -- We got the XL. It holds a TON. It kept everything water free. It saps your MPG because you put a square box on your vehicle. But it worked wonders. It's a great quality roof bag and I recommend this product for a cheap way to add a ton of space. We have 5 people in da fam riding in a 7-seater SUV and we are always full to the max with no room for extras. Giving the kids that third row to keep them from getting on each others nerves too much is essential on a long road trip. But that third row seat makes your truck space horrible. With this bag, we were able to fit all the extras and then some. Our multi-day road trip included some surprise hard rainfalls. Our luggage and paddle boards didn't get wet at all. I highly recommend, if you are having water woes, that you ensure the flap that covers the zipper is fully covered, and the velcro parts are attached well. I also suggest you put the proper height contents so the angle of the sides (especially the side facing the front) reach as close to vertical as possible. This keeps the water runoff dripping straight down and not running back up under the flap. Also, I was worried that since my SUV has side rails on the roof (but no crossbars) that somehow this thing would not seal down flush and secure to my roof and allow no air flow underneath. Myth busted...it worked perfect. The little hooks that go under the weather seal of your door frame work perfect. Oh and btw, who knew the weather seal can just pop on and off so easily?!?!Oh yeah, if you hear some humming or noises at higher speeds, I recommend adjusting the left over strap--the extra left over after you tighten it down--to where you rolled the extra up as high as you can and you secure the velcro around both straps (you'll see what I mean). This will keep air from getting in between and making noise. Our MPG probably when down about 5mpg when it was all said and done...this thing is not very aero dynamic. So just expect that.Overall, this thing held a ton and did the job and I am very pleased with the purchase. You will be too.
