Bought it as a gift for a very advanced 3 year old. The projects and other parts were put aside for when she is older, but the scope itself is perfect for any child over 3- super fun to inspect items in the water, especially for seeing small water creatures and interesting flora. Definitelu worth it, even for a child not old enough for the projects.

I got this for my kids’ science classes, but use it myself as much as they do. It is designed for underwater, but we use it for anything we want to see up close.The light works really well so we can see fabric fibers and bugs up closeIt is very easy to focus, so kids don’t get frustrated.

Good concept… couldn’t get to function. & that was a bummer because it took up quite a bit of luggage space.Would be better off with a cup & a trusty magnifying glass.

This items was placed on our granddaughter's Christmas list and we were happy to complete her desire. She loves exploring and particularly loves looking at fish and handling toads. The item appears to be well made and suitable to her needs. We look forward to her putting it to good use at the lake this summer.

Hi! This is a really fun product. The kids really enjoy using it to look under water at water bugs and the light is a great feature. However, it gets 1 out of 5 for durability :( On the first time using it, one got dropped by accident and the insides came apart. We are unable to be put back together. If this is a product intended for kids it needs to be more durable.

Gave this a Xmas present for my niece- I love giving unique and learning experience type items- she loved this BUT as a gift I was disappointed when it arrived from Amazon looking like it had been tossed around and previously tried to be open or something-I felt kinda crappy giving it as a gift like they might have thought it was used.Didn’t have time for a new one but she loved the idea anyways

Got it for a birthday kid who dreams about to become a marine biologist. Awesome educations and fun toy. Comes with a journal (pictures, projects and notes). Kid was supper happy and looking forward to explore the marine life!

Upon putting the viewing end into about 5 inches of water (far far below the maximum depth line) the scope took in water. We though maybe it was intentional until it caused the lights to short out. The scope is basically overpriced trash. I have already thrown all packaging and materials away so I can't even return it. Will not buy this brand again.
