Small and powerfully packed with authentic licorice flavor
Yes, real Italian licorice mate. Take a few moments to allow your taste buds to adjust. It’s a strong almost bitter coffee like experience, but it’s very nice. It’s very intriguing and it is rich and bold flavored. A slight bitterness is actually nice. These are tiny little pieces in a very tiny can, but there are many pieces in the can. One at a time is all you need and you can savour it for quite a while. I was looking forward to this package arriving and I am so glad I made the purchase. It’s a very unique earthy strong sensation in your mouth. It’s not a burning sensation. It’s a very mellow as I said slightly bitter espresso like taste I’m enjoying this very much and if you don’t Send the remainder of your box to me and I’ll have them.

Close to Sen Sen
I bought these trying to find a candy close to the taste of Sen Sen. These are close, not exact but still have the licorice taste and not very sweet. My 5th grade teacher told me they were Sailor's candy when he was in the Navy because they would go out on shore leave and take Sen Sen before coming back to hide the smell of alcohol on their breath

Does NOT Taste Like Sen Sen
I love licorice and I used to really love Sen Sen. Unfortunately this doesn’t taste like either, contrary to other reviews. This product tastes like bitter burned sugar mixed with a slight licorice flavor. It is broken into a million tiny shards with a few big chunks mixed in. I’m not sure it it is supposed to be that way or not. I definitely won’t buy it again.I recommend Cachou Lajaunie which has a licorice/menthol/astringent flavor if you want something that is kind of like Sen Sen (definitely NOT the same though). If you want a strong straight licorice flavor, try Barkley’s Pure Intense Licorice Drops.

Potent little things
Like so many, I was looking for a Sen Sen substitute and found these. The first one I had, honestly I did not like and thought what a chore these are going to be to finish. The second one was a bit better and by the third I was having to pace myself so I didn't finish the rest in a day. They took a minute to get used to but now I love them and will for sure get them again. Add it to the list of good but different than Sen Sen.Note, these are fat little square pillows of hard licorice. Different shape than many other hard licorice bits I've had. Strange they don't show a photo of them on the Amazon page...

American: First time trying...
My only suggestion is if you don't know what this is don't buy it. I took a chance and ordered it. It's hard to describe other than an OVERPOWERING taste of... something. I'm not sure what.I tried a little nub (about a tub tac maybe smaller) and i had to take it out of my mouth like 4 different times. 30 minutes AFTER trying it my mouth tasted pleasantly like licorice.I just tried it (the same one I keep taking out of my mouth) one last time and I chewed it up. I shouldn't have done that. I regret my decisions.

First two boxes were delicious.
This is my third box of liquorice bits. The first two boxes each, had a couple of hundred crisp, little glass like, black licorice chips. Two or three little pieces on the tongue, they would crunch and dissolve in your mouth and your mouth would feel super refreshed. This third box has about 30 liquorice bits the size of gum drops. They are not Crisp, they are hard and they are gummy, they don’t chew, they get caught in your teeth and finally dissolve. It’s not refreshing. It’s an unpleasant experience with black tar caught in your teeth. I would give five stars if the product was consistent this third box I don’t care for at all. I will throw them away.

It's not sweet but it works for me
This is the 90% cacao of licorice! To me, it tastes like snaps without the candy shell; it's no sweeter than a "sweet" spice. It seems to help when my allergies are acting up, so it's a keeper! There is a limit, however, to how much pure licorice can be safely consumed, so I recommend you look it up and be informed as to what would be a safe amount for you, but be sure what you're looking at is pure licorice. I have no problem staying within the recommended amount, though. It's a little costly, but it works for me as long as the price doesn't go up.
