Buy the R7. I don’t know how well the escort works I’ve had other escorts before and they did a decent job. The R7 is unreal. I usually will pick them up a half mile away over hills and curves. It’s by far the best detector I’ve ever used. There are so many things that can be done with the R7 as far as programming in colors for different things. I say buy the R7. I don’t think you will be disappointed. By the way it has 360 degrees of detecting and I’ve noticed when the law is only running radar in the different direction your driving the detector will pick it up also as well as it does from the front. Also tells you direction and band they are using
