It does fit the 2015 base veloster
Worked great and was kinda easy to install. It's affordable and still works in my car now. I have a 2015 base model veloster.

Good Price - It Works
The Veloster Trunk Button (tailgate switch) for my 2016 Turbo works perfectly and was fairly easy to install. My old switch worked but the rubber that held it in the housing disintegrated making it inaccessible (photo). The OEM switch on Amazon is $60 and the switch from the dealer is about $160. It looked like the dealer would charge a few hundred bucks to do the job for me.I followed the instructions in Hyundai Technical Service Bulletin 16-01-072, which is available online. (The old 2016 recall is no longer is free for my car.) It is meant for Hyundai service professionals and I needed a little more explanation so I watched some YouTube videos. For example, “Step one: Open the tailgate.” You aren’t going to be using the broken tailgate switch. I crawled into the trunk from the back seat and used the emergency trunk latch. It took me about an hour. I checked that the trunk opens and the backup camera still works. The only tough part was the rubber grommet on the cable harness but I finally persuaded it into the hole.

Works great not oem
Easy to install and works great. Only issue was the gasket was too large and ended up ripping when installing.

❌2012 VELOSTER❌ This does not have the correct wiring connector.
This does not fit my 2012 Veloster and another 2014 Veloster in the reviews! I had to cut out the two wiring harnesses that had way too many wires for some reason and use my old wire connector. I didn't have my solder with me so I had to just pigtail and tape it. This is janky crap and I would never buy it again unless I had to. The fit isn't quite right either. Very easy to install but not quite right. I'm hoping this is more durable than the OEM part. My button broke off and was lodged somewhere where my fingers couldn't reach. Amazon thinks this fits my car but it definitely does not.
