The Official Guide for GMAT Verbal Review, 2nd Edition 2nd Edition

I read this book front to back and did every single problem and I passed the GMATs the first time. Well, you don't really pass or fail you just get a grade, but I felt like it was a high enough grade to apply to business school and I got accepted after my very first application. This is essential and was so helpful and gave me enough confidence to take the test. BUY THIS.

Great study books, better than any other I've checked out. If you go through the Official Guide, the Verbal, and the Quantitative books cover to cover, there's no way you won't be prepared. No need for any other books or expensive classes. Each question has a very clear, descriptive solution explained. Best, cheapest way to get a good score on the GMAT.

Official guides are born with a silver spoon in their mouth. The fact that they are created by the test makers instantly guarantees their acceptability among the aspirant community.The explanations provided at the end are really good and for any beginner, buying an official guide is better than buying 10 other guides from sources other than GMAC.The questions in this guide are suitable for all levels, and students can work their way through the levels thus building skills along the way.Most students( if not all) strive for that elusive 700+ score and it is common knowledge that the gradient varies more for verbal than for quant. You can check out scale conversion matrices to verify the claim.The greatest strength of this guide is, for reasons stated above, its greatest flaw.What you get in the form of practice problems are totally different from the monster that you face once you get your performance going during the actual test. A collection of questions of increasing difficulty is different from a barrage of 99%ile questions and that also in an unpredictable order.There are several ways to counter what I have just stated, and I guess the book serves its purpose, otherwise it must have had a name like 'Toppers guide to Verbal'.The message is clear. If you are looking for a book to help you brush up your basics, this is the book for you.If you are already in the region of 40, and looking to increase your score by 5 - 8 points, this book will not help you.

I bought this book and used it in conjunction with the official guide quantitative book and the Manhattan GMAT series books and felt extremely well prepared and confident entering the GMAT and left with a 740 (50 Q, 40 V). Strongly recommend this book to anyone looking to take the test

Well, I am rating this based on what I saw in the book. I actually never used this book. I felt the GMAT Premier was enough and concentrated on that book. The content in this is much the same and would be good if you felt you needed the extra practice. I just didn't feel I did after the extensive studying of the other. Although, the price was not bad, so this is not an indictment of this product.

I recommend this purchase because the book it is cheaper than buying it from the original website. The books is brand new and the same, so thats all I care about it.

I never got my book, I wasted my money and time waiting for the book that I never got. Although I tried to contact the seller, I never even got a response as to what happened to the book I purchased. If you are seriously considering taking the GMAT exams then this is not the right place for you.

This is a great review for the GMAT. This book really helped me get into MBA school. Full of practice question with explanations of the correct and incorrect answers.

A fantastic book for preparing for the GMAT from the company that writes the exams. Was extremely helpful and very reflective of the actual content of the GMAT.

Very good book. But please do not try practicing questions straight away unless you have a strong foundation in English.

The OG books are must haves! Not only do you get official exam questions from the past, but they also are the only books where you don't get reverse-engineered questions made up out of smart people. It is a book that everybody must have to prepare for the GMAT.

Es handelt sich hierbei jedoch um ein reines Übungsbuch. Strategien, wie man beispielsweise "Critical Reasoning"-Fragen richtig angeht bzw. wie man seine Fähigkeiten im Bereich "Sentence Correction" steigern kann, wird man hier vergebens suchen. Speziell zur Erläuterung von Strategien im Bereich "Critical Reasoning" empfehle ich daher die "Critical Reasoning Bible" von David M. Killoran (PowerSource).
