Non toxic spray
I use this to fix pastels and charcoal. It really works. Also no toxic smell or residue. I'm on my 6th bottle.

Great to keep artwork from smudging
This spray works well . We spray it on our chalk artwork and it keeps it from smudging. It has a mild smell, but not overwhelming.

Needs several layers
But, hey, u can spray it Indoors. Krylon workable is better, but needs to be used outside and the smell lingers….

no smell
the solution doesn't have a chemical smell which is a good thing. unfortunately this is the only good thing about it as it doesn't do what it supposed to. i sprayed pastel swatch at least 5 times over several hours but it still leaves color on your fingers. i think the solution is pretty much like water and doesn't fix any dry media

Keeps colors true
Doesn't alter the color. I used this on a pan pastel drawing and it preserved the color without darkening it like other fixative sprays. For best results I suggest pouring spectrafix into a fine mist sprayer, the fine mist will eliminate drips.

Works fine using it with mist/aerosol bottle
This does work as a fixative but you really should get yourself one of those empty aerosol bottles to apply it. You can pick them up cheap at Hobby Lobby or one of those generalist big box stores in the art snd crafts section. It helps to disperse the spray more evenly with lighter coats. The nozzle on the SpectraFix bottle is just too inconsistent and tends to leave droplets in some areas. It’s difficult to apply an even thin coat. Otherwise, it’s a good toxin free alternative to regular fixatives. I believe you can use it indoors without much ventilation

Not toxic
I like that this doesn’t smell and I can use it indoors. However, I would suggest pouring it into a misting bottle to have a finer spray. I’ve just used it for water soluable pastels.

Excellent
I see no shift in hue or value. Found it in a study of multiple products. Bought it because it was the top rated one.
