OK, I already know my grill is dirty...The grates themselves are sturdy, heavy, and well-built. They seem to take a little longer to heat. The heat distribution is very good.However, the thin sheet metal strips welded under the grates that spread the heat from the burner are peeling off on one side. I've had these for a month and a half (just over the 30 day return period). I tried contacting the seller, but the contact info dumps me into a chat that doesn't get answered.If they fixed their welds (and provided better contact info), these would be great.--------05/20/2023 UpdatedA couple of days after the first review, Stanbroil contacted to offer a refund or replacement. This review upgraded to 4 for great customer service! Hopefully the new one will work better.--------07/15/2023After trying the replacement grates for almost 2 months, they work well and the welds are all still intact. The seller stands behind their product as well. These are great replacement grates!

As many others have commented, it would have been more sturdy if the grill was one piece.However, it was easy enough to make a “bridge” to support both halves.The grill top was heavier than I expected and appears to be excellent quality.I did season it as recommended and so far it has been easy to clean and does not rust.

I purchased this to replace the original cast iron hotplate on a Weber Q200 that had rusted away. While we need iron no-one likes crunchy steaks :)Fit well. I think my model Q200 was the sort designed for a single-piece grille, that some people complained in other reviews caused this split model to fall or wobble. I did have a center support and the ends of this new grille overlapped enough to stay supported.However, even if it didn't I have seen people use bulldog clips or just tie the two grilles together with wire to keep it all stable. So you can easily hack a solution - if you can't find the official adapter clips.I suspect they have changed the design slightly with longer tangs on the grille to mitigate this problem. I purchase these grates for my Weber Char Q grill because the cast Iron grates that came with grill was so badly seasoned not worth the time or effort to restore to their glory so I found these and can't be happier with my purchase. Solid grates should last forever with proper care.The Weber Char Q charcoal grill is no longer made but the grill grates are the same size as the Q2200 gas grill so if you need new grates for your gas grill these should do you fine.

After three years of pretty heavy usage, the stainless steel grates are still all intact and work perfectly. I highly recommend this replacement great for your weber grill.
