The Infused Cocktail Handbook: The Essential Guide to Creating Your Own Signature Spirits, Blends, and Infusions (Essential Guide To Homemade Infused Cocktails)

Gift worthy book. I nice mix of Cordials to add to cocktails and innovative infused cocktails
The drinks start conversations at parties. Many of the recipes involve infusing an entire bottle of liquor with spices or shrubs. For example Lavender-infused Gin. I like the section on cordials and shrubs, where I learned to make Chili Mango Shrubs to add to a drink. Most cordials and shrubs require seeping for 3 hours to three days. Bottles of homemade Passion Fruit cordial make wonderful and thoughtful hostess gifts. Occasionally you turn the page and find a recipe for icing or infused coffee. The book is a fun read and more fun to "cook" from.

Great book for learning how to infuse new flavors and depth into your libations!
We all have a favorite libation. Be it gin, whiskey, bourbon, tequila, mezcal, rum, vodka or wine.We all can grab a bottle of oj and make something quick and tasty. Many of us instead want to take the time to craft something new, and take our drink to the next level. This is the book for those that want to learn how to build something delicious. Each chapter is centered around your favorite alcohol base. Each is filled with recipes to teach you both how to bring new flavors into the liquor and how to create new syrups, shrubs and tinctures to mix with. The ingredients range from items you have at home to some more obscure that you can conveniently order from Amazon, or get through your local liquor store. My wife and I are a quarter way through these and have loved every one!My personal favorite is the Here's Me-groni, and my wife's is the Grilled Satsuma Louisianne. Many thanks to the author for writing this book and teaching us how we can up our cocktail game even more.Treat yourself, this is the book.Try something new, you deserve it.

Geared towards professional bars
This book is written to the audience of professional cocktail makers. Both the initial pages, which are just the same questions asked repeatedly to an assortment of bar tenders, as well as the recipes themselves, which utilize whole bottles of liquor in most cases (with shelf lives est. at 2 weeks frequently), are not geared towards home hobbyist cocktail drinkers. I also wish there had been a section more so as a review on infusions including history, science, and common techniques both by professional bartenders as well as home based translations. I will certainly try some of the recipes but in scaled down versions as well as using easy to find alcohol from my local BevMo. I expect this won’t provide the same results but I was looking for a book to try at home, not to open my own professional cocktail lounge. The book is well bound with pretty photos, it will likely sit on its shelf without much use.
