Good Pilot’s Flashlight
I bought this for use in my flight bag since there are situations where you don’t want a bright white flashlight but still need some light. While other flashlights make you cycle through several white light settings this light offers a separate option for the red lighting which helps preserve night vision. I also like that the seperate buttons are distinctly different with the white lighting which helps being textured and the red being smooth so I have no doubt which light I’m switching on even if I can’t see the button.

Quality light that works
Had a light from coast that was virtually the same for years. Used it every day. Buttons finally wore out and needed a new one. The light is bright white light. Great indoors. Ok outside but does not reach far away. But not designed to. More powerful lights are needed for this. But out to 50ft or so ok. But is a broad beam light. Not a narrow spotlight. So in my opinion ok as I only use this as a close up light indoors, the garage, closets or letting the dog out and keeping an eye on them close to the house. Red light great for night time. Use it frequently to go to the bathroom at night or to the kitchen and not have to turn on the white light so I wouldn't blinded turning it on in the dark. Its durable metal case lasts and is well made. Only down side is battery only lasts as long as described on their site. I use rechargeable batteries in mine. I use Eneloop pro in mine and recharge them in the day and ready to go at night. I recharge maybe once a month. If light is heavily used it may need recharged sooner. This light has no clip on it to attach to pocket or shirt pocket though. Bought a light from coast that was slightly large that had that. I love these little lights and would recommend them.

Excellent light!
Excellent light! It is one of Coast’s less expensive models. I do own some of the more expensive ones, but I have to say this one is my preference for walking outside at night. This light is very bright and has a long focus distance on its lens, so it is more suitable for outside use. You’ll get a brighter spotlight at 150 feet compared to higher lumen flashlights that lack the focus for outdoor use. Plus, the red night-vision option is perfect for walking at night. Just bright enough so that you can see where you are going.Another thing must be mentioned: Coast flashlights have an *excellent* light quality (CRI) compared to cheaper LED flashlights. Take a Coast flashlight and point it at a tree at night: the leaves will actually look green. Take a cheapo LED flashlight, point it at the same tree, and the leaves will just look bluish-gray.I like the fact that the lens focus is fixed. Frankly, the Coast flashlights with adjustable focus are just a pain in the neck outdoors. Their focus always changes when the flashlight is in your pocket.Comparing this PX20 flashlight with the similar-size (but more expensive) PX1R model rechargeable flashlight, the PX1R is designed more for indoor use. Even though the PX1R has an adjustable lens, even at maximum distance you can’t get the nice spotlight you get with this PX20. (And the lack of a red option makes it less ideal for night walking.)Bottom line: Excellent quality light, and very bright. Out of the several Coast flashlights I own, this is the one I find myself using the most often (especially outdoors) even though it is the least expensive.

great flashlght, durable
Easy to use push buttons. Quality construction. Very durable. I have several of these, still working after years of use.Absolutely HATE the packaging it comes in.The clear plastic is so tough ,I had to use a electric hot knife to open it !They should use this plastic on the space shuttle.

Excellent edc flashlight
1st, I had 2 G45 Coast flashlights since 2008 when they 1st came out (16 years they lasted, and 1 still works intermittenly). I am just now replacing them with this newer Px version. This px version is almost the same except the px has much brighter led's, and they are bright white leds (6000k sunlight? ) instead of the old blue led's.Even the Red light is way better than the old was.Easy to press button, that wont press accidentally in jeans or lunchbox.Waterproof o-rings.Handy belt/pocket clip.Aluminum body and caps.I am even using the same AAA rechargeable batteries (2 anyway) from 2008/9, so I know that the batteries dont drain in the flashlight when it is not being used much. The only cons I can think of is that these Px versions dont come with a lanyard, and trying to get an old or new lanyard is too tight for me to get on in the new px, and the rechargeable batteries are a smidge larger than regular batteries, and are a bit difficult to remove from the cage (but the same is true for any flashlight with aa or aaa cages, so not a negative, just stating that in case it can be a neg to someone. Also, use a plastic card or similar when removing batteries that are too tight or risk breaking the battery open. I use a plastic plaster knife I have).I also have a Coast D-cell's flashlight that I got at the same time I got the old g-series flashlights, and it is doing just fine in all these 16 years, so I know how durable Coast flashlights are (well, except for the pen light I got for free when I got the 3-D-cell-flashlight. That pen light didnt last a year, but it was a free light).Definitely reccomend Coast flashlights. Here is to another 16 years not having to buy a flashlight again.

Night (red) light works perfectly. Love the compact size!
Got this flashlight mainly because of the red light/night vision function. I was going to see the synchronized fireflies at the Congaree Swamp and one of the rules was that red lights were needed.I really appreciated that this flashlight had separate buttons for the regular light and the red light. I brought a headlamp (just in case) that had a red light setting, however, you have to click through all of the other light settings before getting to the red one. The single button for red light was clutch! Now, I’m keeping it in my car just in case I need it.
