weight? point of balance? steel type? threaded or peened pommel? tang welded or same piece of metal as blade?

The point of balance is at the front of the handle, the steel:carbon, not tempered, there is NO POMMEL the handle is hollow, the blade is welded to a small metal rod extending from the inside of the pommel and the handle is held together by the weld.

So i want to use this sword for a cosplay. is it heavy? and would i probably be able to take it to a convention without being stopped by weapon check?

Its heavy and you might get stopped for a weapons check- its an all metal sword so it would not take much to sharpen and be lethal.Contact the cosplay promoters for the convention and specifically ask them about this if its considered prop or weapon.
