I recently purchased the Desert Essence Coconut Body Wash, Coconut Shampoo and Coconut Conditioner on Amazon.com. My husband and I have used other Desert Essence products before and loved them (Tea Tree Blemish Stick- amazing on insect bites and Tea Tree Deodorant which works as well as any deodorant/anti-perspirant with loads of nasty chemicals in it) We have been big fans of coconut-smelling products for a while but I have often shied away, as a lot of them smell very sickly sweet. No one wants to end up smelling like a cupcake or a pina colada!Not so with these! We love love love all three and the smell is subtle and not sweet or overpowering. I have long hair and wash it nearly every day (terrible I know) and the shampoo and conditioner keeps my mane glossy and hydrated. I get little hints of coconut now and then throughout the day but I like that- I live in NYC and having clean smelling hair by the end of the day can be tricky.The body wash has a nice consistency and my husband loves using it. He works on construction sites in all weathers and it doesn't irritate or dry out his skin.Nice packaging- you absolutely get your money's worth with 8fl oz. and as I said, we use them nearly every day and a little goes a long way. When I purchased all three they each had a slightly different label so there as been no confusion during those early morning, bleary-eyed showers!The MASSIVE plus for me with these products is that in addition to using sustainable, organic ingredients, neither the finished product NOR the raw ingredients are tested on animals or contain animal by-products. They are vegan. They are also gluten free and have no nasties (phosphates etc) in them. Plus it is a small American company...let's support them!Highly Recommended.

Works better than the chemical conditioners that aren’t organic. Smells great and feels good!

If you love coconut then this shampoo is for you. A little goes a long way and an almond sized amount in your palms will produce a thick rich lather that washes away quickly and easily leaving your hair clean and smelling island fresh. Be sure to get the matching conditioner.

I'm nearing the end of my bottle and have been very pleased with this product. The smell is great and I feel good about putting this product on my hair.

Just happened upon this product, and based on all the good and lack of bad ingredients, I purchased it. I have tried many natural products, including making my own, and I love this the best. For my curly, porous hispanic hair, this conditioner is perfect. I use it after my mud wash, or on its own as a co-wash, and I usually do not fully rinse out, so it is also my leave-in rinse! I'm a big fan of coconut oil for everything, so this product has great appeal to me. Due to the coconut oil, it is an outstanding moisturizer, and yet it has the absorption and non-coating qualities I look for. Hair is soft and moist after using this, without feeling gunky or limp. It also smells wonderful but not over-bearing. For reference, I have tried the very expensive 100% Natural brand coconut and the lavender conditioners (bit too heavy) and Aubrey Organics honeysuckle rose (tad too light but I appreciate the absorbing non-coating

I love the clean, natural ingredients in this conditioner and I love the way it makes my hair look and feel. I have thick, but fine hair and many conditioners weigh it down, make it look dirty or leave me with static cling. This one is perfect!

I've been using this hair rinse for many years. It restores moisture to my hair without making it so limp that it can't hold a shape.

I love this stuff! It's the richest and most repairing conditioner I've found!! Of course everyone has different hair, and different needs from their products, but this is the best stuff I've encounted for my dry hair. A little background: my hair is super processed. I went to a pale silvery blue color from dark auburn, and it changed the texture of my hair from sleek and strong to fragile cotton candy. I tried plenty of other conditioners, including wen and ogx (which worked temporarily, but didn't do anything to repair my hair), but this one finally returned my hair to my natural, strong, healthy texture. That being said, if your hair is not in need of powerful moisture, this might be too heavy for you. Also, without any other product, my hair dries to a light, shiny, wavy texture (which I like), but if I want it extra sleek and straight, a spritz of ogx's argan oil does the trick.
