Q: Are these thicker than the spenco heavy duty insoles?

The forefoot area of the Walker/Runner insoles is just slightly thicker than the Spenco Heavy Duty Insoles, but the Heavy Duty heel is thicker than the Walker/Runner. The Walker/Runner is 0.27" thick at the forefoot and 0.30" thick at the heel, whereas the Heavy Duty is 0.25" thick at the forefoot and 0.50" thick at the heel.

Q: Is this hard plastic supported on bottom or all the way through maleable rubber?

all the way through maleable rubber...... for what it's worth, these are THE BEST insoles I have ever used! Good Luck!

Q: do these have higher or lower arches than the heavy duty style spenco insole? Do you have any other suggestions for the highest arch support?

They were highly recommended by our Podiatrist the inserts are comfortable helped with my bone spurs, I would consider them lower arch.
