Don’t be intimidated by whiskey!
These ladies nail it! Don’t be intimidated by whiskey.I am a transplant Kentucky gal from Oklahoma 15 years ago. Fell in love with the history and culture that surrounds America’s Spirit from who were the adventuresome creators to the chemical processes to even the labeling regulations to preserve its heritage.I have leveled my game into visiting distilleries, attending conferences with fellow connoisseurs, taken classes earning my novice status, reading and sharing the knowledge searching and appreciating the various designs.Susan and Peggy have created a very beautiful researched reference, story and pictures of enriched experiences that come out fully in this book. I can tell you it’s easy to read, follow it’s theme of hosting with class without all the pretentious vibes. Not to knock wine parties and the southern belle brunches but this includes EVERYONE, men and women, and lists of ways to give your own spin without compromising bourbon’s warm and rich history. Suggestions and step by step pairings for those who couldn’t remotely dream of combinations to engage your family and friends are fluid throughout this layout. You’ll even gain some awesome trivia knowledge ;-) YOU NEED THIS BOOK!

Need to Know How to Plan and Host A Fantastic Bourbon Event? Read This Book.
I'm probably biased because I've been attending events hosted by Peggy Noe Stevens and Susan Reigler for years, but if I had had this book 6 years ago when I started my bourbon journey I would have had a head start on my own tastings and parties. The great part about this book is it explains what makes a great tasting event. And it's more than just bringing out some shot glasses and some bourbons you haven't tried. There's a real thoughtfulness that goes into making a bourbon event one in which the participants have a great time and also learn to appreciate bourbon.Bourbon drinkers love to share the gospel of bourbon, and with this book, you've got a head start on how to plan, implement and host a bourbon event, whether it's for a few close friends or 50 people. I've seen the thoughtfulness in food pairing and whiskey flight creation evolve over the last few years simply through the kinds of techniques the authors have shared at their own events. If you want to sit at a table and knock back a few shots with some friends this is not the book for you, but if you want to create an experience where you and your guests experience and learn about bourbon in a way that would make the master distillers of the country proud, read this book and plan your first tasting. You'll love it!

The Emily Post guide to bourbon!
Peggy Noe Stevens and Susan Rieger undoubtedly wrote the Emily Post of bourbon books! I feel like I have learned so much about hosting, decorating, table settings and bourbon pairings.I used this books principals to create the perfect date night and will use it for my next party! If that wasn’t enough they included a ton of amazing recipes for every occasion. Buy the book! I’m a slow reader and finished in 5 hours. I will refer to this book endlessly.

Perfect to learn about hosting tasting events, recipes and food and bourbon pairing
This is such an awesome resource on food and bourbon pairing broken down to its basics to teach what to think about when setting up a tasting event that involves food. Even better if you are just hosting a tasting event and have everyone from beginners to experience whiskey drinkers, this is a great resource on how to set up, what to serve and the best order to serve. Love the section on cooking with bourbon as there are so many great recipes.

We can't entertain without bourbon served!
I appreciate Peggy and Susan's ability to share their entertaining expertise. The pictures throughout made their concepts come to life. Entertaining is an art and I have learned many techniques from Which Fork Do I Use With My Bourbon from a simple, casual gathering to a bourbon tasting event!

Not a very exciting collection of recipes
I felt that this book is kind of dated. Good for an older ladies who lunch crowd.
