McKee's 37 MKCS-100-KIT SiO2 Ceramic Series Complete Coating Kit for Paint, Glass, Wheels, Chrome

First time doing a ceramic coating. Long time personal detailer. I was initially concerned about applying a coating but figured I had done my share of waxes, sealants, and glazes. I fell in love with the Hydro Blue spray coating and use it religiously for the last year. Not really intimidated about the prep as that is how I handle all of my maintenance to my paint I went ahead and pulled the trigger.Now I am not a professional and don't have a covered area to do my detailing so all was done in direct sunlight on 60-70° spring days. I ended up doing 3 vehicles ( Toyota Sienna, Ram 2500 Megacab, Dodge Durango) in a weekend. All were strip washed, clayed, iron decontaminated, and 1 step polished before coating. Normally that would be followed by a sealant and wax. This time the ceramic coating went on.I was really careful being in direct sunlight to do small sections and wipe off directly. As I went on further through the 3 vehicles I began to notice how forgiving this coating was and began doing bigger sections before wiping off. It really is a lot more forgiving than I thought it would be. I was worried about applying it to the glass because of the horror stories about having to buff ceramic coatings off because of the streaking/haze. To my surprise I was able to apply this to 5% tinted windows that were warm in direct sunlight and easily be able to buff off the excess. It works amazing on textured plastics as well. There were several situations on my black truck that I saw places that I hadn't buffed off all of the excess and was able to go back to where I had applied it 15 minutes ago and clean it up with the microfiber in hand. Very forgiving.Now the microfiber you use to buff off the excess will be thrown away. Even after washing with microfiber cleaner directly after finishing the job it came out stiff. (Which is a testament to how solid this stuff becomes.) I would never put anything like that on my paint. Maybe you could use it for some really dirty jobs but I elected to toss it. And they say it will do 6-8 applications, I had MAYBE enough to do a smart car after the 3 larger vehicles I did. That's not to say I expected much more than that, and I am sure not disappointed.This stuff cut me down a few steps and I would say that it was faster to ceramic coat these vehicles than to wax them much less glaze, seal and wax them. And the shine was at least on par with all 3 of those steps. I would even venture to say it was better. It collects less dust than a wax top coat and has preformed better to date (less fingerprints and streaks on a daily driver after wax). Can't wait for the rain. The Hydro Blue was amazing and I have high hopes for this. I will update when I come back to purchase again (because that IS happening).

Great value for detaling buisness,good quality. One 4oz bottle allowes me to do about 5-6 cars. Included applicator is better be used as a block covered with micro suede 4x4 mini disposable towels.Much esier to apply compare to previos mc kees & other coatings i've used before. And the key to success is a prep work,i use clay towel first ,then 2 step polish meguiars m110,m210. Wash with pre coating car shampoo,let dry overnight. Next morning wipe clean all leftover water spots using paint coating prep spray, apply thin coat of ceramic and wipe it clean 30 sec to 1 min ,using two towels. Do 1 panel at a time!After testing on my own and friends car i'm taking 1 star off because i can see now few month later how it started to loose its hydrofobic properties. I can clearly see the difference when i rinse the car that water repellency not as good as it was 1st month after application. It's still there so i'll update.

I am so glad I waited until now to coat my car. Holy moly is this stuff amazing! I was always put off with the complicated steps needed to coat my car with other products this coating is so user friendly and very easy to apply. Once you have completed paint correction and IPA wiped down the car this really is so simple to apply. Work one panel at a time using a “crisscross” method to ensure even application wait a few second and easily buff off. So easy to remove just use plenty of micro fibers. I am BLOWN away at the outcome. I have pearl black paint and I have been left with a deep, glossy and glass like protection. So glad I waited for a easy to use and effective product like this. You will not be disappointed. Also there is so much product you can do several cars!

Completely disappointed in this product.I purchased this product for my wife's new car. I am not a novice. I washed it thoroughly, clay barred it, and used McKee's prep spray, even though this was a new car. This product went on and buffed off great. I was very pleased. We left it in the garage from Saturday until Monday morning. Well beyond the 24-hour recommendation. 2 days later it rains. I go out to see how well the water beaded up and ran off. That is, after all, what everyone bragged about. The water didn't bead at all. NONE. It sheeted up and sat on the car.I email McKee and detail what I had done, hoping they could tell me where I had gone wrong. I get an email back that tells me that it looks like I must have "missed a step"... No clarification, no willingness to help, nothing. Simply referred me to a link to the product and said I should look at the instructions again.Definitely would not recommend it.

I have been using Mckey 37 Mk 260 for paint coating for the past two years.This was the first time I applied MKcs100 for it contains more SIO2, the results are amazing . Extreme mirror shine .

Followed the instructions and the car came out beautiful.

Don't drop the bottle, its glass and at $79 bucks a bottle, its a real bummer when you get one vehicle done and the results are amazing, but then you drop the glass bottle and oops, there goes 70 dollars worth of product, right into the street before you can do your other cars! use plastic bottles guys!

Great product, it provides and easy layer of protection to my vehicle and the 100ml bottle is sufficient to do up to 4 cars it's nice that they added a microfiver towel , the applicator and a "dropper " to apply the coating to the pad
