It cuts through all thicknesses of cardboard boxes like butter. It makes it safer and easier for ...
The only blade I use in my OLFA 1072198 LA-X 18mm Fiberglass Rubber Grip Heavy-Duty Utility Knife. I use it primarily for breaking down cardboard boxes. It cuts through all thicknesses of cardboard boxes like butter. It makes it safer and easier for me. No more yanking or repeated hacking like I did with my previous cheap boxcutters. One smooth stroke gets through any box. I've also used it for cutting foam core and styrofoam and all sort of tape and ropes. One blade will last a very long time for me. Changing to a new blade is also safer for me. I just hold it with a plier and push down to snap off the old blade and a new blade is ready to go. No lifting and replacing a razor sharp blade in the cutter.Bottom line: A superior quality product and a value in every department - performance, safety & cost.

Really sharp, last well
Great blades for a great knife (Olfa 18mm L-5), definitely superior to what the big box hardware stores carry.

Excellent Quality
This company manufacturers high qualiry products. The refills are excellent. Definitely a case of "you get what you pay for".

Best snap-off blades around
I'd assumed that all snap-off blades were the same: cheap to manufacture, good for a few uses, no frills. These are significantly sharper than others I've used, though. They're possibly higher carbon steel than others, given the initial sharpness and that they seem to hold an edge a little better. That last bit can justify the higher price. You'll get as many or more cuts out of these per dollar than other blades, and they're more of a joy to use.

These Blades Are A 'Cut' Above!
I bought these extra sharp black blades to replace the worn out ones in my Olfa Ratchet Lock Heavy Duty Utility Knife. This knife was the first Olfa product I ever bought and the cost versus quality value hit me right where I like it. This knife makes the ordinary box cutters everyone uses look pretty bad. It's like comparing a black powder rifle to an M16 or a Ford Model T to a new Mercedes. Technology marches on and smart companies develop better alternatives. These blades are about 25% sharper than the Olfa silver blades, which makes a big difference when you're cutting down several cardboard boxes for recycling. So make a "major" investment of about $16.00 and buy the Olfa Heavy Duty Lock Heavy Duty Utility knife with a box of these super sharp blades. You'll be glad you did.

Holds an edge
does the job, and seems to hold an edge longer than the bright steel blades.

Worth the extra cost for excellent quality
OLFA products aren't cheap, but they are worth the investment when you don't want to compromise. I was fed up with the cheap, thin, replacement blades from other suppliers, and I don't regret buying the better quality, which also makes for safer use. Having a sharp blade on a cutter can be dangerous if they snap off during use.
