EXCELLENT ''2ND CHOICE" TOOL
5 STARS NOT 4 BECAUSE OF THE EXTREME LOW PRICE. EVERYTHING WORKS, THE KNIFE BLADES ARE SHARP, THE SCREWDRIVER TIPS ARE CORRECTLY HARDENED, THE FILE AND CAN OPENER LEAVE SOMETHING TO BE DESIRED BUT ARE SERVICEABLE. THE TOOL OVERALL IS STURDY AND THE PLIERS ARE FIRST RATE WITH A SMOOTH ACTION AND NO PLAY. THE HOLSTER IS WELL MADE, STURDY AND THE TOOL FITS WELL IN IT WITHOUT JIGGLING AROUND, BUT IT HOLSTERS AND RETRIEVE SMOOTHLY. I CARRY A MULTI-TOOL IN EVERY BUG OUT BAG (3), AND EDC BAG (2) AS WELL AS 2 FANNY PACK OR MAXPEDITION CONCEALED CARRY HOLSTERS.THAT'S 7 MULTI TOOLS, IF THEY WERE ALL SOG, LEATHERMAN OR GERBER IT WOULD ADD UP QUICKLY, SO BAGS I CARRY THAT SELDOM LEAVE TOWN GET THE LESS EXPENSIVE MULTI'S. AS I ADD MORE MAXPEDITION TO MY "AROUND TOWN" BAGS, THIS STANLEY WILL BECOME MY TOOL OF CHOICE. IT S WELL PRICED, WELL MADE AND ITS A STANLEY.

Better than I expected
I purchased this on a whim since it was marketed by Stanley. I own more expensive multi-tools, some are in the 75 dollar range, and have been a big fan of Leatherman products for over 20 years. For the low price, under 11 bucks, I got curious and to my surprise this inexpensive multi-tool performed very well. The file is not the best in the world but did take a burr off a garden knife I was using. The knife needed sharpening which was no problem with a few strokes thru a Smiths sharpener and I began to evaluate each tool. The can opener worked good, the screwdrivers both flat and phillips did the job well too. The blade they call the small knife is too thick and not really suitable to be called or even used as a knife! I found it more useful as an awl or punch, and it did very well in that category. The pliers worked find, and the wire cutter is ok on some types of wire. The saw is a little shorter that I would like but it went thru a 1" limb with no problem while doing yard work. The belt pouch is made fairly well and I found this multi-tool to be a decent addition for a pack, camping, bug out bag, for the car, The fishing, etc. For the low cost and the performance I can't complain! Very happy with this purchase. The belt loop needs to be moved up about 3/4" to 1-1/2" so it will ride closer to the body. STANLEY needs to address this issue as it would end the negative reviews on the sheath with the loop being to low. As it is, the pouch will stick out from the body and hang up on things, brush, etc. I dropped by the shoe repair shop and he moved it up for a buck! Redid it with my sewing awl when I got home. Cut the top added a piece of strap the same size and went up a full 1-1/2" from the original position of the loop. Works so much better now! Made the loop opening 2" to fit most belts. Just dropped down and ran another row of stitches across to keep it from sliding and tilting to the extreme. STANLEY...fix this minor thing Please! The tool works and passed a lot of tests! Pouch modification. Pics shows how it was, how it is now, and the mod on the back showing stitching. Works great now.

Great price and decent quality
Im really impressed with this thing, its cheap but fairly well made in comparison to other cheap multi tools, I'll list some pros and consPros: great price point even with prime shipping, stainless steel, quality construction, comes with a cheap sheath, all tools function and operation is smooth and as expectedCons: no locking mechanism (it's ten bucks cant complain too much)It isn't a Leatherman but not by much, I purchased this for my dive gear and has been exposed to long periods of time submerged under fresh and salt water. although it along with the rest of my gear gets rinsed after diving, has shown very minimal surface rust spotting that wipes off with your finger. overall I'm pretty impressed so yes I would recommend and will buy another as I'm sure I'll drop this underwater and not feel too bad about losing it...I also think these would make greats gift for handy people, I'll be buying some for Christmas gifts for the guys in my shop.

Nice size, good price
I'm giving this to my dad for Christmas--I am giving him a gift card to a store, but wanted to include more of a gift to go with it. So this hasn't actually been opened and used, but I am delighted at all the multi-tasks he can use this for. I did read in a review of this that some of the tools are hard to extract, but I don't know about that. I'm so pleased to have found this one because it's well made, has all the functions I wanted, and comes with a sheath. I saw some that were pretty cheap, but they didn't look very sturdy, and then I saw a few that were extremely expensive, but I couldn't see that they did any more than this one, so I just kinda went in the middle and got this one. I like the size of it. I think he'll really like this and use it often.

Pretty good for the money
An OK tool. Don't make the mistake I made and use the knife as a lever. I guess I got into the habit of this with my Leatherman and with this Stanley tool it bent the knife so the tool wouldn't close. No biggie, I bent it back and got it to close. Now when I use the knife normally (say, opening an Amazon package) it bends backwards into the handle which is starting to come apart. Maybe I was rough on this tool in another way and didn't realize it. Oh well, for $10 and lasting a year of moderate use I think I got my money's worth. Time to look for something better though.
