BulovaMen's Brown Leather Self-Winding Mechanical Watch
D**D
A stylish and attractive timepiece at a reasonable price.
Was perusing watches on amazon and this caught my eye, I hadn't actually come across Bulova as a brand before so did some research into them. They aren't the traditional Swiss type manufacturer but an American brand.Anyway I decided to see the watch in the physical world as I(for a bloke) have ridiculously small wrists and have found over recent years that the fashion seems to be for gigantic bezel s which unfortunately limits my choice in watches.Went to a high street jewellers and tried it on and instantly feel in love with the look and feel of this watch on. The face is beautiful with some nice detailing in the top maroon crescent the rose gold looks good and although it's not clogau it's of a similar appearance. The semi skeleton design gives you enough appreciation for the workings within without it seeming gimmicky. The weight at the back (auto winding feature) seems well balanced and I haven't as yet needed to wind the watch manually after a month or so of ownership.I believe that the workings are Japanese not Swiss but this doesn't concern me I'd rather have a Japanese built car these days than a German one and should imagine that the quality of Japanese timepieces are similar to that of the Swiss. The clasp at the back is slightly unusual in that it has a metal strap type clasp on a leather strap but you soon get used to this combination of buckle and clasp.I really can't fault this watch and if you're looking for an attractive watch in the mid price bracket then you can't go wrong with this Bulova. Obviously only time will tell ('scuse the pun) if it really does match up to the Swiss made and higher priced cousins, it does come with a 3 year guarantee which is reassuring but don't forget that as this is a traditional timepiece and it will need servicing every few years at a cost of around £60-£90.
