Unusual purpose but works great
I used this as a stand for a vertical jump tester (for basketball player). I attached the jump tester to a 2x4. It works great and can be moved around instead of being fixed in one spot.

Sturdy and durable
My husband target shoots and uses this to hold his targets in place. He uses rifles with large bullets and it is able to withstand the force and keep his targets in place. He has had this for years and still uses it weekly. You do need to insert a 4x4 and it's easy to carry around. It honestly is lightweight for something that holds steel targets.

I'm surprised at how stable this is.
The first time I took this out to the range, I forgot the tent stakes I was going to lock it down with... turns out, I didn't need 'em. I have a 35# AR500 silhouette mounted atop a 4' 8" 2x4 on this stand. The board might rock side-to-side a little, but it hasn't fallen yet. There are marks from the lead splatter, but no apparent damage after a couple of range trips, and a few hundred rounds. The stand is lightweight and easy to carry to the back of the range.Only downside - I have HighWild's target hanger on the other end of the 2x4, and it has an Allen screw for the shim, which I find a bit more convenient than the hex bolt this stand uses.

Best Platform Yet
Solid, secure. The one drawback this stand has can be easily remedied by a trip to the hardware store. The weight of a full-sized or even 2/3-sized IPSC silhouette can cause the entire thing to topple forward, even on level ground. To fix this, there are holes already drilled into the front legs. Buy a set of adjustable appliance leveling legs and you're good to go. Even tilting the stand back won't increase the hazard of a ricochet because the target itself is still tilted downward enough to deflect bullets downward. For the money, this is THE best target stand of its type available, and for a fraction of the cost the "Brand Name" charges.

Switched from 2x4 target bases to these!
After using the triangle base that took 3 2x4’s to setup, I was tired of the bulkiness and how heavy they were. We travel with the targets and are always moving them. Carrying them to further distances was always a pain. I’ve since switched to these 2x4 metal upright type stands and couldn’t be happier. They are compact yet sturdy even for full size AR500 targets. We leave them assembled because it’s still so compact when put together. Will only buy these from now on.

needs to be longer
Its OK, hold the 2x4 well enough, BUT when the flapper target I'm holding with it gets hit it rocks back and falls over. I mounted the target farther forward, and now when the flapper resets, it falls over forward. I'm gonna have to find the sweet spot, but if it had longer legs, I would have just smiled and given it 5 stars.

Bought to hang my garden hose.
We needed an off the ground hose hanger. I didn't want to dig beside my foundation nor attach to the side of the house. My husband suggested this target hanger and it worked like a charm. Portable yet sturdy enough to hold more than one hose length. Assembly was easy after watching the video posted in the reviews. Four of the bolts take a 1/2" socket. Can't remember the other size, but it is smaller than 1/2". Now my husband wants to order more to add to his shooting range. LOL
